where in the bible does jesus say "i am the only son of god". i know that in the bible it makes refrence to sons of god (the jews, i think). he was a great prophet but what makes you think he was the son of god or god himself. if i remember right in the ten commandments it to worship god and only god. oh and why is christ portrayed as being white with long hair and blue eyes (common european traits)?

No-where in The Bible is Jesus' appearance described.
The faith became the official religion of The Roman Empire under Constantine and the romans would naturally portray Jesus that way.
Some very early depictions of Jesus from after about 200 A.D (which I saw on a documentary) mad him look almost like a boyish Greek god and beardless with a few sheep at his feet.
A main contributer to why Jesus is portrayed the way he is in various ways was because of the Shroud Of Turin.

I believe in my heart that He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The world can portray Him any kind of way they want to but I know he was Nazareth. People from Jerusalem looks like the pictures that artists have taken on as the depiction of Christ. I personally dont care that the pictures look the way they do because I know that God has done great things for me and my family.

John 1:1-3

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 1:29-34

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.” And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

He is not portrayed as being light skined and blue eyed, he is dark skinned with brown eyes, and he is special because he is the Son of God.
