Or do most atheists have neutral feelings towards organized religion.
In other words they are atheists for purely scienfic reasons or lack of proof.

My experience is that atheists typically think religious people are foolish for what they believe. They cannot accept anything purely on faith. They feel it is a security blanket to cover the fears of the unknown related to death.

I'm an atheist, and I'm neutral except when it comes to those who are extremely religious. The fact is, I don't see how moderate Christians and the like can say that "science and religion can get along" - it's logic vs. faith, which are always mutually exclusive. But, in the interest of getting along with people, I usually let their beliefs go. I shouldn't - religion in the wrong hands can be very dangerous, and those who are moderate are only reinforcing others beliefs.

To more directly answer your question, though, I am an atheist for purely scientific reasons, not because I "have it out" for organized religion.

I have neutral feelings towards organized religion, it is what the religion causes people to do that bothers me. However, I was atheist before I ever cared about politics or history, I never believed in any religion because of lack of proof and illogical religious claims.

I don't think so. It would the same as asking if all organized religions have negative feelings towards atheists. I think that is called stereotyping.

organized religion kills so many people n the name of God. it seems it would really be hard to stay neutral. the greed that goes on in the churches these days and the pedophiles behind some of the pulpits are really getting hard to over look. its finally coming out into the open on how the organizations of these religions is destroying human kindness and faith.

I'm a Christ-follower and I have negative feelings about organized religions. They give the Truth a bad name.

I am for lack of proof. And I don't have many negative feeling for religion unless it gets in the way of people living.

I can't speak for others but I know I myself don't have any negative feelings. Everyone is free to follow the belief system of their choice. I don't put others down for their beliefs - I can respect the person even if I don't believe in the theology they follow. I hope to get the same respect back but I don't expect it.

I've noticed that most atheists just have beef with christianity in paticular. They tend to gloss over other religions altogether.
