well, it's supposed to be because she's 'pure'. But who's anyone kidding these days, or even in the olden days? Especially if she's pregnant during the wedding!

It'd be better if she wore nothing in the kitchen, white just shows dirt too easily!

All I know is that NO ONE BUT THE BRIDE is to wear white.
no exceptions, except under direct order of the bride, like say she is having a black tie dinner and includes notice with the invite
