they will eat dry food and wet food then go for the momma cat. I always have water out for them. I thought maybe it was because they were thirsty after eating but I aleays leave out water and sometimes kitten milk and they drink it but still feed off the mother. And they live outside right now until I moved so I can't seperate them.

I don't know how old they are, but my kittens are about 3 1/2 months old. They still want to suck on mom. Sometimes she lets them, but she's getting to the point that she's getting tired of them. I think that most kittens are weaned by 6 - 8 weeks old, however if mom will let them they'll still suck on her. They eat regular cat food daily.

It's really no big deal. It's probably more of a security thing. You know how kids get addicted to bottles? They may drink out of cups, but if they see a bottle they still want it. As long as mom will let them nurse, I don't see a problem. Mom will eventually get tired and not let them do it. If mom is willing to let them nurse, let them. Mother's milk has got to be good for them.

They are just little babies that don't want to let go of mom and grow up. I think it's kind of sweet. If you take them away from Mom, if they are at least 6 weeks old, they should be fine eating cat food and drinking water.

no worries this is actually good for them. they get more vitemans from their mom milk, what you will have is strong healthy cats.

most kittens stop suckling from their mom at about three to four montes old. that's usualy the time the mom get's pregnant again if they are stray cats.

any way if the kittens are older then two montes you should take the mom to be spayed, they can spay her in a way that she can still produce milk at least for this litter yet won't get pregnant again, and once the kittens will reach three or four montes old get them spayed too.

why is this such a problem??? when the momma cat gets tired of it she will do more than run from them she will start kicking as*s....at 5 months old something has got to give anyways they will stop if she doesnt stop them but i guarantee she will get fed up....its definately not hurting them, it cant be hurting you, and when she is fed up she will let them know it.....

They are most probrobly wining and are not used to only eating normal food (allowing their amune systems to get used to solids)

That is totally normal. Mama's milk is yummy. They don't want to give it up until they are forced. Don't worry, they are fine.

Momma will take care of it. When she has had enough she will let them know.

Xian's answer is correct. The female will stop feeding them when she is ready.

They will wean themselves off her eventually (or she will wean them off her). This is natural. You don't need to do anything.
