how can i find out if a store accepts a certain credit card or debit card without actually ordering something off the website?

You could always go through the check out process and cancel the transaction without actually ordering something in order to see which methods of payment accepted. There should be a feature that mentions ways to pay as well.

Most websites have a 'Contact Us' link on their site. Here you will probably find a customer service phone number. Call them and ask. If it's not on their site and they have a local store look in the phone book for their phone number or do a search on the internet.
