I am trying to find out how to make a recipe that my mom used to make. It was always delicious; especially on cold Winter nights while growing up on Long Island, New York. I do know that the ingredients are like: elbow macaroni, chopmeat, onion, green peppers, tomato sauce(?). The problem is I dont know if that is what the recipe is called! Also, I am confused as to use straight tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce, or what! I am getting married soon and would like to make this recipe for my new hubby :) Thanks in advance.

My mom use to make something similiar..I don't know the name of it but here's how I remember it:

1. You boil up your elbow's...
2. Fry up your onion, green peppers...not alot..just till their soft.
3. Take some homemake sauce/jarred sauce (whichever you prefer) and put it in a pot..heat it up.

Add your hamburger to the onion, pepper mixture... drain off some of the fat afterwards.
Take your cooked elbows, add that to the hamburger mixture and then take your heated sauce and throw that in there, Mom didn't add alot of sauce so it was floating in it, just enough to coat the elbows.....stir it up. You can add anything else to this if you'd like..spices, grated up cheese, whatever your heart desires..

Afterwards you could even put this in an oven safe casserole dish, put cheese on top of it, and throw it in the oven till the cheese melts all over it.

I hope this helped you somewhat.
