How would I go about getting dual citizenship in Britian. My husband is a citizen of Britian, and I am a citizen of the US, we were married here in the US and live here, but he does not want to give up his British citizenship to become solely an American, but would like to have dual citizenship. Does anyone know how this works?

I don't think there is anything wrong with having dual citizenship, especially with a country like Britian, who our country is allied with.

This question has already been asked here so many times.

Neither the US nor the UK has any law against dual citizenship. All your husband has to do is be naturalized as a US citizen; he doesn't have to do anything to keep his British citizenship. He would have to renounce it in order to lose it.

I wish I could tell you why such an insane process exists in the first place. Dual citizenship is just another bad idea that promulgates disloyalty. I think they need to do away with this notion that a person can owe allegaiance to two countries simultaniously.

Talk with the Embassy (either American or British), as they deal with this issue all the time.
