Is it true if you don't believe in god you go to hell?
and why?

No, because in order to go somewhere, it has to exist and the concepts of heaven and hell are those of Christians and other religions. So because we don't believe in God and religion, we don't believe we go to hell because we don't believe it exists.

No, I don't believe it's true that you go to hell if you don't believe in God. Besides, I think everyone will believe He's real after death.
BUT, I think you go to hell if you then see Him and hate Him. At that point, if you hate Him, you wouldn't WANT to spend eternity with Him. Then, you go to hell, which is the place where He isn't.

You are invited to go to heaven. You don't have to earn your way in or pay a price. You can come. If you don't believe God has prepared a place for you, why would you go? He does not force anyone. You are free to choose Heaven where you will be in God's presence. Or you can choose to be apart from him and all his influence. If you take all his influence away that is hell, because there is no goodness without God. You choose.

Belief has nothing to do with it. The Bible says that even demons believe in God and tremble.
You need to trust God, agree with Him that you are a sinner and repent. Pray. Read the Gospel of John for answers.

well im not sure, dont listen to the others, but it is a great thing to have jesus in your heart and try your best to be good...and if you sin, just ask jehovah god to forgive you..YES HELL IS REAL.. the bible tells it all..read it ..it talks about the past, present and future..it even spoke about the september 11 tradgedy..you would be surprised about all the true things it talks about.. it also talks about the lake of fire..which is hell....where do you think all the murderers, rapest, etc..go??? to heaven...NO, I DONT THINK SO!!(IF THEY HAVE BEEN SAVEd AND THEY REALLY REALLY REGRET WHAT THEY HAVE DONE, they would serve their time and turn their life around.(and serve god)..now thats a different story)..and about what that girl said...something about it being hell surrounded by people praying all day...well she shouldnt talk about hell if she has visited. it..heaven is a beautiful place full of love and happines...a place where all pain, suffering, starvation and tears END..............AND HELL is burning for all ETERNITY...plz do yourself a favor and turn your life around and accept JESUS IN YOUR HEART.....your life would be so much easier and happier...

We are separated from God by our choice. We have chosen our selfish ways - and broken our relationship with God.
The Good News is that He loves us more than we can imagine, and desires relationship and eternal life with us.
Jesus said "No one comes to the Father except through Me." He is God's Son who came and taught us and showed us what God is like, and gave his life to pay the price we could not pay.
The gift of the promise of eternal life is through faith in Him. You are seeking truth which is WONDERFUL. God will meet you if you ask him to.
Take the time to read the Gospel of John or "The Purpose-Driven LIfe" by Rick Warren , which explains it beautifully.

No. IF YOU REJECT God's Son, then you choose the consequential damnation and punishment for yourself, which is hell. Reject meaning--you know about Jesus and rather than admitting to God that 1. you have a need for the Savior, and 2. that you are a sinful being, and 3. that you belive that Jesus is indeed the Christ...you decide to reject Jesus Christ.

most people who believe in God believe that there is some penalty for not believing in Him.
Of course, if you don't believe in God or hell, then what should it matter to you if someone thinks that because you don't believe in the former that you're going to the latter?

It depends.
If you believe (deep within yourself) that your going to hell because you dont beleve in god then -yes- your going to hell. The reason why is because YOU CREATE your own heaven and hell.

No. Besides, imagine being in a heaven filled with those who just want to sit around and pray all day...that would be hell.
