In a survey of politically active Christian organizations, all of them either supported torturing enemies, or refused to comment.

A self-proclaimed "evangelical Christian" was disturbed by the torute policies of the Bush admin, and went to Right Wing Christian Groups to clarify their stand on TORTURE. The results I have previously described are the results.

To the people calling this a "lie".
This was on the radio down by DC. The guest who did the poll was a devout born again Christian who was appalled that the Christian groups that represent him are now locked into supporting the Republican party even where it is against Christ to do so. I wish I remembered who it was and what the show was but I can't.
The Republican Party is not your church, it isn't the Constitution, and it isn't America. Remember that or you will be part of repeating some very unpleasant history that seems to have been forgotten.

It's a horrible act. The church has, sadly, become full of hypocrites and Pharisees.

Christian organizations are not supposed to be politically active. That's grounds to take away their tax exeptions. Where did you find the survey?
I think, in order to extract information from terrorists, frightening people with dogs is acceptable (that method has been reported on the news many times). Letting those dogs come into physical contact with that person would be unacceptable.
I hope and pray that true torture is not being utilized.

We support our troops and we do not pretend that war is supposed to be painless and sterile. We know that horrible things go hand in hand with war.
A better question would be
Why do the rest of you do things to help an enemy that commits atrocities like kidnapping and beheading civilians? What have you done to help the enemy today.

Good question. It's not really surprising if you read the bible though. The god of the Israelites is a cruel, petty thing in that book. It wasn't above ordering the deaths of innocent woman and children, so what Bush is doing isn't really that bad by Christian standards.

i suggest you read this. it shows how in the bible torture is recomended and it also shows in the bible how when fighting in a war you should kill everything man, women children even the animals. so this is why christians support the genocide of muslim people. not to mention if you look at the news there are christians pro israel war because they think the coming of jesus is near so they want to see death and destruction. good luck

Because they believe in the "Strict Father" model of dealing with people. If they aren't doing what you want them to, you must punish them. It works with religion and with politics. Read "Don't Think Of An Elephant" to learn more.

Because christians are, by nature, blood thirsty pigs. Why do you think they like to punish thier little children with switches and paddles? They enjoy seeing people suffer.
