Is telling a story a lie. Is it lying to tell a little kid the story of peter rabbit and do the voices for them. I would say no, it is just telling a story. Lying I think is when I is for gain or to avoid punishment. Borrowing money and promising to pay it back when you have no Intent of doing any such thing is lying. But telling a story when you have said it is just a story is not.

I don't believe it is a lie. They are playing a role, and everyone knows it is a role. They have made no secret of the fact that they are actors and are acknowledged as such. Furthermore, wouldn't this make all fiction writers, playwrights, scriptwriters and poets sinners as well? I mean, Prince Hamlet didn't really exist, did he? In fact, all forms of art would be sin in your eyes.

Everyone is a sinner. However, movie stars are paid to be entertaining. I'm pretty confident God knows the difference between a real lie and a line spoken to entertain.

I think you are being overly picky about that. So, according to your definitions, people who came to my church and did a production to reenact the death and resurrection of Jesus at Easter are sinners as well? Hmmmmm.

What exactly is your point anyway? Everyone is a sinner--we sin on a daily basis--EVERYONE. You, me, everybody. We tell lies all the time--even you. Some are big ones that affect people in a big way--some are mediocre. But the point is that we all do it--but people who act and bring entertainment to the masses--aren't going to hell just because they are creating art.

I really don't believe that God is so picky like that. He created these people--gave them the talent to act--and that is bad? Nope, I don't think so.
