maybe it can sense your aggresive attitude towards it and thus it does not trust you. Many cats do not like being held.

There are quite a few reasons that your kitty does so:
1. You are holding him in a wrong way and he feels uncomfy and scared.

2. He has not been proper socialised when young, and/or separated too early from the mummy.

3. He's scared of heights. Yes, some cats are.

4. You MAY have inadvertently "mistreated" him, so he's scared of you.

5. He is of the breed that does not like to be held or carried.

To remedy it, you need lots of patience and loving to educate him to be carried. See if it's any of the abv reasons, and take the proper correct action.

not all cats like to be held. for cats you need to earn their loyalty it doesn't just come naturally. also before you got it maybe the previous owners hit it or something like that. try giving it little cats treats like those pounce ones or temptations. clean the litter box each day and always call the cat when you feed it or bring it to the bowl so it knows that you feed him. things like that should help him warm up to you. if that doesn't help then buy a book on how to look after your kitty properly and hopefully this will help you love your kitty more and him love you more

Do not do that. Put that cat up for adoption if you have such evil thoughts. Perhaps the cat is sick and that is why it does not want to be held. Perhaps the cat knows you hate it. Take that cat to animal humaine and get it a proper family. If you want to drown it you should not have any animals ever. Do not get any animal again. Get a teddy bear or toy.

I had the same problem but i went to the person that gave me the cat and it turns out that all my cats were runts of the bunch and they all do that so your cat might be also.

heres a little bit of advice don't even try to drown him for two reasons
1. He/She will probably claw you to death when you try
2. If you do drown him and somebody finds out you might get put in the slammer

Your kitty does not like you. You have probably done something bad to it that it remembers quite clearly. Cats have a long memory, but if you work at it, they might forgive you and come around. You sound to me to be more of a "dog" person. Different as night and day.

If my cat, Molly, had claws, she'd scratch my eyes out if I picked her up!

My cat, Joey, growls and huffs when I hold her.

At least I have Lucy...I pick her up and her arms and head just sort of drape over my body...she doesn't fight me at all.

I guess most cats just don't want to be held! Just hiss back to your cat (it's funny to watch the expression on their faces when you do that!)

Try giving it a bath and see what happens. LOL Cats are totally independant animals...just keep feeding it and it might just come around.
