Why do people need proof that God exisits?

For those that believe, they understand, but for those that don't, it's sad. This modern world is so.......technical [for lack of a better word] in itself, that people need proof for every little thing. God exists. God is real. No matter what you say or do, He is and always will be. He doesn't need to give us a physical proof that he exists. Well, heck he's already done that...it's called the Bible. Yes, people go to heaven when they die, yes people go to hell. God created every person alive on this earth today, but the sad thing is, not everyone is as blessed to be one of God's children. That's why Christians are here. We're not some brainwashed robots following something that's false, come on, people were made with more sense than that. We're not stupid. We have a choice to just walk away from God, turn our backs on him, but why would we want to after every thing he's done for us? I woe for people that just don't know....and I'm only 15.....geez.

I agree with you that Christians are not brainwashed robots.

Some of us are not able to commit our lives to Christ without reasonable evidence that God exists. Fortunately, God has provided us such evidence. (For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm )

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

Im also a Christian, for alot of people it is just hard to believe that there is an ultimate being that created everything. The world is also proof, think about it. A car is less complex then the world itself yet you don't see a new Ford mustang slowly build up in the middle of a junkyard. Throughout history people have tried to disprove the Bible and all those attempts failed. Some people just feel better following science rather than God because science just seems more logical than a being that created a universe out of nothing. If we really did evolve from monkeis, then why do humans have a soul and monkeis dont?

So, your evidence that god exists is... the BIBLE? Do you really know ANYTHING about your religion?

First of all, the BIBLE did not come down from god. Not even close. If you even bothered to read the bible, youd know that much of it is letters from one person to another, ABOUT god. What are not letters, are stories. Parables and the like... things that record what happened. None of it was written by god, and certainly, the bible was not all written at one time.

And most importantly, the bible contradicts itself in so many places. If god wanted to put across one message, he certainly would not produce so many versions with conflicting messages.

You basically just called everyone who is not a christian a brainwashed robot. Given that you cannot prove your god exists, how can you be so selfish, and how can you be so SURE, that your god is the one, or that he exists at all?

Spark up a few of those brain cells. If God loved all men, why would he choose to give his message to JUST a few people in the middle east? Don't you think, that since he loves other people too and he supposedly "made" all of them, that he'd try to inform them of "reality" too? Its incredibly selfish for you to think that YOURE the one with the special message that you have to spread to EVERYONE else, isnt it?

Remember that the bible was written by HUNDREDS of people over THOUSANDS of years. And since it gives conflicting messages, it certainly was not written from ONE viewpoint.

As much as you fault the world for being so "technical," think about how little the church has changed. Remember... the church is the organization that vehemently protested the earth being round for hundreds of years. So lets match that up against science, and write me back when you finally have proof of your God that wasnt written or created by other people... and that has ONE message, not conflicting, contradictory ones.

Umm... how do you know they dont? Because your "book" said so? haha. Can you prove that monkeys dont, or that we do? Some guy tried to weigh bodies about to die and see if they lost weight when they passed away (supposedly the soul leaving the body) and found that if there is a soul, it has no weight. So I ask you. Since you haven't died yet, how do you know there is no soul? Oh... wait, you don't.

Wow I have never said people who believe in God are brainwashed or robots. In fact I am married to a Catholic and I am an atheist. The bible isn't proof of anything, it is a book. By that reasoning I could assume Harry Potter and Superman are real. I don't need proof, I just have a different belief then you. Don't feel sorry for me, I have a great life, great kids, great husband and family. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my life, I am content. If I can marry and live with a Catholic, then I am pretty sure we are both not judgmental and strong in our beliefs. As for the rest of the God is real, great so you believe in God, but you stating God is real is only an opinion not a fact. There is no proof either way, you have your beliefs we have ours. I don't try to convince you or generalize about all religious people, I would appreciate if didn't either.

You don't have to feel sorry for people you don't even know that aren't as religious as you. They aren't there for you to pity. Do you even have a priority list? Shouldn't your family, loved ones, friends and goals be at the top? Why make strangers number one? You will never know what will happen to them after you die and after they die. You will never see them again.

People want proof of god because it makes sense. Anyone can make up any s.hit and insist that it is true, because they believe in it, but no one will agree with him.

You have no solid proof that god exists. None. The Bible doesn't mean s.hit. It was written by man and revised by man and translated by man and protected by man.

You can believe all you want that god is real and that he will take care of you when you die, and there is nothing wrong with that. But the truth is that you don't know that. You won't know that even after you die. Because you will be dead, and that's it. Whatever you know after you die, that is what you will know, and no one else.

Because they have not yet realized that everything happens within themselves in terms of perception, so a large quantity and significant quality of imagination needs to be applied to this problem for it to happen. Also, God is really a woman, and she has a man to assist her ruling the world.

To each his own. It sounds like you want everyone to think the same way. But remember, there are plenty other religions other than christianity. Some of them are older than christianity. I would not change people because of their beliefs. Why would you?
