Unfortunately, we have allowed ignorance to guide us through our lives, we no longer seek knowledge through books, history and research, we are content with the knowledge we get from media.
We have totally overlooked the fact that media is no longer the sound of truth, media is an industry, involving big money, media has proved over and over again that it is a tool to make the public believe in what it wants them to believe, TRUTH has for long stopped being the essence of media.
I say you want to know the TRUTH work for it, go to libraries, read books, read, read and research and understand, then decide.

First even a small portion of the largest religious group on earth being terrorist is a big thing, and they can and do create lots of damage.
But I also look at what they have do, as in the major damage, deaths and destruction following their temper tantrum because some editor drew a pathetic picture of Islam. Is all that their definition of a peaceful religion?
Including of course the threat that a large portion of the muslim community would join alqueda and kill people if their designs were not met. Is that a peaceful religion?
And of course the money several religious leaders of the muslims offered for the head of the person who drew a cartoon. Is this a religion of peace?
In your statement you have likened the terrorist to our military, how dare you? How can you possible compare the military who have gone to save and sacrifice the lives of people they do not know, to bring them freedom, education. They have only attacked military targets. Versus your precious terrorist who patheticly attack civilian targets, women, children. They who torture and kill their hostages. How can you compare them?
As for further investigation, I've read three chapters of the koran a year ago. Three chapters that happened to teach how pathetic women were, especially women who were not islam. Anything could be done to them, they were basically slaves. After reading that I had no interest in reading further.

I don't believe anything I am told unless that information has been examined by me personally nor do I blame an entire population of people for the acts of a small group of them. But I do see that there are a few factors in the Middle East that are hard to ignore.
Nations with predominately Muslim people tend to be at one level or another in a state of unrest.
Muslims tend to be at a greater tendency to hostility.
Muslims often take things way to seriously. But then so do many Christians and so that cancels out any discriminatory example.
Many Muslims may not be terrorists but they don't condemn the acts of terrorists and instead celebrate many of the deaths caused by terrorists.
With all this said, I still believe that there is good in people..Even if they have faiths that I may not agree with or if there are several violent factions that fight in the name of their respective faith.

It's the media. It doesn't matter if it's the weather, a natural disaster or a religion, all you hear about is the worst 1%.
My feeling towards Islam is that maybe 1 out of 100 Muslims I meet is likely to even be sympathetic to the likes of Al Quida, let alone a terrorist. The same goes for Catholics, or Mormons, etc.
The rest are just people with hopes, fears and issues like me.

I actually don't believe everything I hear about anything.
News in this country is obviously biased.
I only know one Muslim person, I used to date him. He was very nice.
I have read part of the Qua-ran. It is amazingly like the Bible.
Happymrzot says something that does not make sense. He says the good Muslims should outdo the publicity of bad Muslims. He should try living in a country where the news is so biased against Christians that all they know about Christianity (from tv news) is the people like David Karesh, and the priests who assault little boys. Imagine how Christianity would look if that was all you knew about it.

I personally seek to have a deeper understanding of many religions, and I doubt that I will find that on television.

I understand your sentiment, but an estimated 30,000 to 100,000 Iraqi civilians have died in the war; obviously, not all casualties of American forces, but still a heavy toll to pay when I don't recall them asking for us to liberate them or educate them.
"They only attacked military targets"? Please to explain, then, the recent news stories of the atrocities that a few servicepeople have committed in this most recent war, against civilians, where women and children have been raped and murdered. In one case a young woman was raped, her entire family killed, and the bodies and house burned in an attempt to cover it all up.
Yes, they are only a few who allegedly committed these atrocities, so it is wrong to condemn the hundreds of thousands of others who proudly and ethically serve in our armed forces.
But then isn't it also wrong to condemn the hundreds of millions of Muslims who do not commit and do not support acts of terror committed by only a minority?
And Islam is the SECOND largest religion in the world; Christianity still is the largest.
And on what do you base your claim that most Muslims would join al Qaeda or any other terrorist organization? If that is the case (which I do not believe that it is), then God help us all, because about 20% of the world's population is currently Muslim and I seriously doubt that any military force could be victorious over that (FYI - the American military currently enlists about 1.5 million active personnel. Do the math.)

Well, if you want Islam to have a better image, you should rally the supposed majority good Muslims to stop the bad ones!
Until then you are stuck with the image like Christians are stuck with President Bush!

I dug deep to understand Islam....and they are terrorists!
It is worse than we've been told. It is worse than just a false prophet. It is worse than just blowing us away.
It is leading people down the road to destruction. Led by their satanist moon god, allah.
May G-d have mercy on their souls........oh, Yeshua, save some in spite of themselves for Your Glory and their sake.

I dont' beleive everything I hear or read because it all depends on who is providing the information--and it can be scewed in a way that is advantageous to the author. Therefore, I question, gather information on my own--and make my own educated opinion. That way, whatever I decide is based on facts, not just someone's propoganda. :)
