The common rule years ago was that it was the boy's responsibility to ask a girl except for leap year and that was the only time a girl could ask but now we are in a new century, times for things to change, I believe that teenage boys around here are to shy for the girls.

Yes of course the boy should ask first,but in some cases the boys do not have guts to tell the girl that he likes her,because of fear,In such cases if the girl can do the job it will be better for both of them.If the girl can smell the situation.

It's not that easy unless you just don't care... And I'd wager most people do.

It's a little risky... its not about life and limb, its about self-esteem and rejection.

No one likes rejection that I know of. So asking someone out isn't always easy.

Some guys just continually throw it out there and just take what ever sticks... they don't give it a second thought. However others are more selective, and at least get to know someone a little bit 1st, and that makes it harder. (For me at least)

So, no... I don't think the boy should always ask 1st. I think everyone can benefit from the experience. It can be very hard at 1st, but learning how to present yourself, assert yourself, and take rejection gracefully are all good lessons.

I never felt comfortable with asking a guy out first, yet if you feel you really like him then go for it. A lot of boys are shy too, so remember they may feel relieved that you asked them out and get the pressure off them.

nope there is nothing wrong with a girl asking a guy out
if a guy likes a girl its as hard to ask her out as if a girl likes a guy
the only time its easy for a guy to ask a girl out is when he doesnt really like her or doesnt know her cuz he's not afraid of rejection but when it comes to likeing her its as hard as its for us to ask the other out
so yea a girl can ask a guy out if she knows he likes her too
