my baby girl is 19 months old. she's able to speak a few words like "i want to eat", "i want rice and soup", "mommy love me" etc. she's recognised all the alphabet A-Z and be able to pronounce every each of them ever since she was 17 months.
she is able to tell a story from looking at the picture in a book, like "this baby playing ball", "daddy hug baby". "baby crying", "the sun is hot" etc.. while she points at the pict that shows it.
she makes some moves and dances when a song is played. like the 'itsy bitsy spider' and so on..

many of my friends's children who is older than her but don't know all these yet. all of my friends think she is just intelligent! they always praise her.
well i am not sure as she is my 1st child. perhaps this is just normal.. or is she really that intelligent? share with me...
just be honest.. i am okay. ;-)

It's normal for the first child to be more advanced as you have more time to spend with them. My first one walked at nine months, could speak a lot of words by 12 months, etc...

As someone that works in education I know that there really are no children that are more intelligent than other children given that noone of these children have mental defects. The reason that some children advance more quickly in their knowledge of the world around them is because their parents and whomever else is around them daily are investing more time with them and giving them more encouragement. It sound to me as though you are doing a good job, so keep it up, and remember not to go overboard with it.

Both of my children were like your daughter. My son is 6 and my daughter is 2 1/2 and she has a very large vocabulary and knows all the ABC's. Everyone tells me the same things that she is very smart. Are you at home with her? I stayed home with both my kids and I talk to them all day long. Just know that you are doing a great job and keep it up!!!!!

She seems to be very smart. Hey dont worry intelligence always takes some training from people around kids too. show her things around and tell their names 3-4 times per day and point to the object.slowly she will start telling i want to sit on couch ,i want to see tv.If she does all this. She is smart. All kids are sometimes born intelligent but it always take inspiring and training from parents and people around.

It sounds like your daughter is very bright! You must have done a great job with her!

Keep up the good work, read to her, let her hear good music--not too much tv and talk to her a lot.

it may be normal for the first born to appear "more intelligent", but your lil girl sounds like a lil miss smarty pants!!! also, girls do tend to reach milestones quicker... but, either way, you have a gifted, beautiful bundle of joy, keep up the good work, and never stop encouraging her to learn!!!
