Google Earth and I couldn't believe the staggering heights of some of these gigantic mountains (we're talking over 25 Empire State buildings one on top of the other!!!!!) Mt. Everest is a mind-blowing 29,090 feet!! Most commercial airliners fly at 30,000 feet, BARELY higher that Everest. Do some airline models/carriers fly at varying heights?

Yes, they do. Most airliners cruise at 35,000 - 40,000 feet on long haul flights, more than high enough to clear Everest by 1 - 2 miles.

I've been on a couple of flights that overflew Everest.

I wouldn't say most commercial airliners fly at 30,000 feet. Many fly higher than that, but most stay at or below 39,000 feet. I am sure there are airways which go over the Himalayas, I personally have flown over the far western end of the mountain range. I doubt many would fly directly over Everest and certainly not at 30,000 feet. Another factor when flying over mountains, besides the terrain, is mountain wave turbulence, not a good thing.

as much as i know, they do not...i was on the height of 4000 meters( have no idea about feeds), and you'll never see anything on the sky except bright stars and sometimes clouds... also the local people used to tell me that there are no flights going over "their Himalaya" mountains.
