I belong to a local gym where there are lots of good-looking women that I'd like to meet but I personally think it seems kinda cheesy when guys try to hook up there. Do women think this is lame for us guys to do? Or do y'all like that?

As a guy, I think it's cheesy to hit on women when they are trying to get their work out in, or trying to do their shopping, or working at a retail store, etc. Although some may like it if their dream man did it but mostly, I don't think it's fair. But unfortunately, that's one way to meet women and I see lots of guys doing it. I think if you are talking about the gym in specifics, I think it is better to develop a friendly relationship with a woman you might see over and over again and then it would be reasonable to ask her out. But just obviously hitting on her....I think you should let her work out and smile at her at the water fountain.

doesn;'t hurt to talk and get to know someone who has the same hobbies as you....just as in the bar though, don't come on strong. and don't use the word hook up..they hate that....
