What do you call soft drinks?

In canada they are called "pop" and in california they are called "soda" Any other regional names?

I call them soda. Did you ever see this website below? My personal communications professor told our class about it last semester, while going over cultures & language.

In Washington State, they call it pop and soda, at different times. Going into Sevenevlen Stores, "I am going to get a pop", meaning it is a bottle and "I am going to get a soda" meaning a can. Some people gets half a case of soda, or pop. Like in Wal-Mart,etc.

that's not just california and canada....in Pennsylvania, people from the western half (around Pittsburgh) call it Pop, and the eastern half (around Philadelphia) call it soda. and Philadelphians get really annoyed when people call it "pop" I'm sure somewhere out there someone calls it "soda pop" and I know some places in the south call every kind of soda "Coke" kind of like calling every tissue a "kleenex"

A lot of people in the south east just call them coke.

Because Coca Cola is based in Atlanta, there is a general preference for Coke over Pepsi products, and hence everything is just coke.

People know of Seven Up, Mountain Dew, etc. but if you were going to the grocery store say and you asked your roommates if they wanted any coke, it would just generally mean soft drinks.

I call it soda because I grew up on the East coast, but everyone in Colorado, where I live, calls it pop.
