actually, i like both, but for dietary and other beneficial purposes, we should go for crabs. crabs are vegetarian, and if you get the type, which are well-fed, and fuller, heavier with meat, they make a very tasty curry. i also find that they are helpful in getting rid of persisting cold and cough, if you drink hot crab soup with pepper and cinamon. one has to take the trouble of cleaning them properly, before cooking, though. but it's not difficult. ask the fish vendor to do some initial cleaning, and afterwards, wash them, and separate small legs, for making a stock. prawns are also very expensive, and for a family of four or more, you will have to buy quite a lot, where as, crabs could be bought lesser, as 1 full crab, big size, is enough for a single person. it is believed, that if you buy crabs, next to a full moon day, they are better, because they have grazed all night, in mon light. they should be alive when you buy, check their movement, eyes etc.
chinese people make a number of receipes with crabs, like crab-meat soups, rice, etc. generally, crabs and prawns go well with rice.
crabs do not give any digestive problems, but eating more prawns might give you acidity. similarly. if in restaurants, if the cooks haven't bothered to remove the green thread at the back of the prawns, it gives upset stomoch !
