I can't remember the last time a woman comedian made me laugh. I think it may have been tina fey on Saturday night live, but I can't remember.

Whoopie Goldberg, Rosanne, Ellen Degenerate, Rosie Odonnell, why are they just not funny?

I've watched comedy central's stand ups-nope not funny. Lucille Ball, barely chuckle. Sarah Silverman, actually, yeah, she has made me laugh before. Wanda Sykes, nope, Jenine garafalo? Hardly. Joan Rivers--Bzzzt! No way.

I agree bro...like the late and great John Belushi once said:

"Women are just not funny!!"

Don't get me wrong, there are alot things women do better than men, you know such as....baking cute cakes, the laundry, cooking, and oh yes, having children.

Because you are watching the wrong ones. What about Mo'Nique? She's funny. I don't find Ellen or Kathy funny either but there are a few funny female comedians. I not that big on comedians but I LOVE Carlos Mencia, Jeff Dunham, Larry The Cable Guy AND Mo'Nique.

Everybody is just trying to make a living. We all go in and out of phase. Most times I'm out of phase. Bob Hope, for me, was not funny as a standup comic. I enjoyed him better as an actor. But one night after cuttung my mouth up in a football game, I watched Bob in a special. The old line of " It only hurts when I laugh" could not have been more precise. For some strange reason Bob was hilarious. I was hurtin'. All these female comedians may not seem funny to you, and, no, men don't have "funny" cornered. You just need your moment of pain or whatever, and your attitude may shift. Good luck!

ITs a guy thing. Think about all the greats; Jerry Seinfeild, Robin Williams, George Carlin, and even Dane Cook. Not many comedians make it, but the ones who do are guys. Pretty odd isn't it? Is this an odd coincedence? Further research on people's sense of humor, and comedians may help on answering this, but for the time being, i must say WOMEN COMEDIANS--not funny.

You may not be intelligent enough to get the jokes. I like women comedians but the ones you mentioned aren't always great. I do like Ellen when she's on her game.

To Vanilla Ice: You're single, right? You'll remain that way until you learn to respect women. By the way, besides cleaning, baking, and having children, women can beat your head into the ground just as well as any man.

See a shrink about your misogynistic tendencies, and then try looking around for other ppl than the mainstream ones you listed up there. Do you find jay leno funny? Men can suck a$$ too. Until it isn't taboo for a woman to devote her life to "being funny" instead of "being pretty", my guess it that we will always see a shortage of good female comedians.

I love Ellen and her humour (doesn't have to be raunchy and swearing every second like guy's humour)
I used to love Paula Poundstone also and Margaret Smith. They just weren't given much of a chance in the male-dominated comedy world, I don't think.

I think its because alot of women comedians talk about politics often. Comediannes tend to be basically left democrats, which isnt a problem, but you can ostracize ALOT of people that way.

Try Sarah Silverman. She is VERY funny (to me) without all the political crap. She does do quite a bit of Jewish jokes (since she is, herself, Jewish) but she cracks me up. :)
