that is so wrong!!! it was so sad once i went out with my parents and there were some muslims who needed help because there car had broke down and so we helped then and they were so happy because other people did not help them becuase they were wearing headdreses, i felt so sory for them because they were nice people!
every race has good and bad people and people should not be so racist!

When you live in certain countries and have been through their 'education' system, you end up with a very narrow, very parochial point of view. Anything outside your little realm of experience is frightening and evil and 'against us'.
Add this to an unquestioning media, a reluctance to leave your home country, a ridiculous notion that the world loves you and you have an ignorant racist xenophobic people who answer questions in the way that one was.
There is also the friendless teenager trying to be 'kewl' factor.

Pure and simple ignorance. People are ignorant when they are scared and the US especially has told us we need to be scared. That way the politicians have controll over us and we inturn say stupid things that are hurtful. I'm white, and live in a town with many Mexicans and work in a town with many Somalians. I may not care for a person of either one of those origins (or white for that matter), but I've also learned that one or two people do not make the entire racial origin. Unfortunatly, not everyone has learned that yet!

A lot of people are racist. They see the word 'Arabic' and they start thinking of five years of FOX news propaganda... The problem is that you can say things on Y!A that you'd never say face to face and they don't think of how much they'll be hurting a guy who had the nicest of intentions.
Anyway, people only report questions - nobody reports answers...

The curse of the time. You could have asked it 30 years ago without a problem. But would you have asked a Russian translation you would have been watched. Every time has its enemies I am afraid.

It really is a shame prople are so immature sometimes, unfortunately, not knowing any Arabic I can't help you there, but the best aisle in Wal-Mart is probably the check-out aisle, I've met a few nice girls on my way out making my purchases.

it seems to cause racism with racist replys due to the current situation in the world as muslims are rarely out of the news its a shame that it leads to bad feeling between cultures

Because there are so many ignorant people who think that Arab = terrorist and America hater. And people who think like that are brave enough to make unfounded attacks on any arab they run across as long as they can be anonymous about it.
