I would be remembered as being one of the most unique individuals they'd had ever known.
As for my tombstone, I won't be having one. I have already left instructions with my brother, that I am to be creamated.
Then he is to go out to his back yard, dig a hole, pour in half my ashes and a peach pit, then the rest of my ashes and fill in the hole.
That way 20 years from now, he can go out back, pick a peach and say to himself.."Bro...you're tasting good this year".

One of my favorite epitaphs is for a tomb beneath "The Holy Trinity" painted by Masaccio and located in the Brancacci Chapel in Florence. It roughly translates "As you are, I once was. As I am, you soon shall be." Such a profound and powerful statement, particularly in relation to the painting. But then it would be very pompous of me to expect that to be my epitaph.
Given circumstances in my life, if my life ended today, I don't know that I would be remembered in quite the way that I had hoped.
And I have no plans for a tombstone; I would prefer to be cremated and returned to the Earth (seems quite a few folks have similar plans) rather than be enclosed in some box a few feet under that, eventually, no one will visit anymore. Then I will be just a name on a stone slab and some decaying remains beneath.

I actually wondered what my closest friends thought of me and this is what they said:
I am confident, caring, intelligent, have a good sense of humor and good intuition.
My tomb stone? A professor asked us that in a class I took many years ago. I said then my tomb stone would say "She Tried". But now, I would say "She Succeeded". What I succeeded in doing was what I was created to do. And that is really important to me.

Hopefully instead of a tombstone there will be a small plaque by a tree that says "Planted in memory of..." with my ashes beneath the tree's roots to return my body to the earth.
I want to be remembered with something living and growing like a tree, not something static and unchanging like a stone.

I like to think i would be remembered as funny and irreverent with an occasional bit of wisdom to offer.
I think they would put on my headstone: "999 dead guys walk into a bar..."
(this is an inside joke for improv humor fans)

I'd be remembered as a mom who loved her family. And that's good enough for me.
