Call around to several different vets and ask. If you have a humane society check with them, some have clinics that offer low cost vaccinations and will spay or neuter at a reduced rate.

It depends on where you live.
It's a good idea to call around and/or visit the office first.
I have to have a good relationship with my Vets-if I don't, I won't take my animals there. It's just as important as a good relationship w/your own doctor.

My Vet charges $31.00 for a basic exam. If it's a re-check for a particular condition, it's only $20.00.
Each shot is about $16-17.00 per shot.
Since I buy heartworm and flea protection for my dog and cat, that runs about $54.00 for a 6 month supply.

Of course, any additional meds are extra.
If you are in a small town, as I am, it doesn't cost all that much.
I've lived in big towns before, and I couldn't get out of a first visit without spending any less than $200.00.

Best thing is to call around and see.
Good Luck in finding a great Vet!

Most of the cost will depend on what the vet charges for office visits and what kind of tests or shots are needed at the time of the check up. My vet charges $35 just to enter his office and then it depends on what else he does how much more he charges. Call your vet for a price quote is the best way to find out how much you will need.

Most vets charge abut $50 for an office visit, plus whatever vaccinations or treatments are needed. However it varies quite a bit and may depend on the reason for the visit. Call your local vet office and ask.
