Ok, first of all, 5 or 6 meals a day is VERY BAD for the digestive system. There should be at LEAST 5 HOURS BETWEEN FOOD CONSUPTION. Doctors only know what they are taught, and they are only taught what the government wants them to know, and the government likes to keep people stupid. Why? CONTROL. How easy would it be to control people who know how to take care of themselves? It wouldn't be easy. Of course, snacks are great, if you want to have stomach problems, really bad gas, and indigestion. That's why doctors tell us to eat many times in only a few hours. So when we give ourselves health problems, who do we run to for help? The good-ol' doc, that's who. Then what does the doc do to to aliviate our doctor-ordered-self-inflicted suffering? He gives us drugs to relieve the SYMPTOMS. Not to cure us. Why? CONTROL. The key word here, people, is control. And while we're on the subject of control, if you can control yourself enough, here's what you can do to lose weight and truely be healthy; no doctors required:
Drink at least 1/2 ounce of water per pound of body weight every day, with a minimum of 3 quarts daily.
Consistently eat a lighter, but more nourishing, diet. Do not eat food for fun; eat for health and to stay well.
Avoid junk food, fatty food, fried food, processed food, caffeine, nicotine, and soft drinks.
Do not skip meals. Make breakfast the largest, lunch a moderate meal, and supper the lightest.
When you end a meal, make it a habit to eat nothing more until you next meal.
Eat moderate amounts of raw citrus and subacid fruits, but no sweet fruits, such as grapes or dried fruits. No fruit juices, except diluted grape juice taken a half hour before the meal, to reduce appetite. No bananas.
Eat as much raw vegetables as you want.
The only cooked vegetables should be fresh and conservatively cooked ones. Do not use frozen, fried, or canned vegetables.
Primarily eat vegetarian protein foods, and in some moderation: beans, sprouted beans, seeds, nuts, etc.
All refined carbohydrates are forbidden. This uncludes sugar, alcohol, white-flour products, quick oats, most packaged cereals, and processed starch.
Eat only well-cooked, unrefined brown rice, barley, rye, millet, buckwheat, wheat berries, bulgur, corn, and other whole grains. Do not grind them, but cook and eat them in their natural state.
Use cold-pressed unsaturated oils, plus lemon juice, and possibly some herbs for flavoring.
Do not overeat, ever. It is a very, very bad habit to get into; it is a habit which can be stopped.
Do not eat between meals; that is another habit to quit.
When eating, concentrate on quietly eating and thinking about when you should stop. Do not just relax, talk, socialize, and eat and eat. Do not listen to the radio, read a book, or watch television. Stick to your work of eating lightly of nourishing food, and quit when you should.
You will not be harmed by finishing the meal a little hungry.
A regular exercise program is needed.
Aerobic exercises are better than other kinds. This simply means exercise done out in the open air. It helps lose weight; build strength; strengthen the heart, arteries, and veins; and invigorate the vital organs and endocrine glands.
Walking uses up to 120 calories per hour while actual jogging burns 440 calories per hour. Walking is always the best exercise.
Swimming is usually done in cold water, and this triggers the body to store extra fat as protection against the cold. So swimming does not help one lose weight.
To maintain weight loss (that is, an ongoing program of losing a little weight), calculate how many calories you need each day. Multiply your weight by 10. Then add 30% (about a third) to the total. This total is the amount of calories you can consume daily, without gaining the weight back which you have already lost. Assuming that you are moderately active, eating anything less than that total amount should cause you to lose weight.

Yes, you can lose some weight this way, but eventually you might hit a plateau. Try incorporating some exercise into your routine. If you take a lunch break, try and eat in fifteen minutes and then spend the other 45 minutes walking around the block. Take the stairs when you can. Walk to the grocery store and walk back. If you're watching TV, stand instead of sitting (even do some jogging on the spot, or stretches). Dieting can only take you so far. The rest depends on exercise.

Okay the thing with anorexic is that they have reached a point where there is not enough food going in for the body to be able to store as fat, and yet the body needs a source of energy to conduct its daily activities. So, in that case, the body starts to autodigests. The first thing to go, are the muscles, then the tissues follow. That's why they look so damaged.
What you need to do is eat 3 meals a day with snacks in between (so it comes out to eating 5-6 times a day). You need to eat everything in moderation. Stop eating out (you will also save money this way), but if you must avoid anything fried, go for smaller portions, eat lots of fruits and veggies...
Most important, exercise!!!!!!!!
By eating regularly, there is no need for your body to store so much fat because you are meeting your daily requirement. By exercising, you lose the extra fat that your body does not need.

The body needs a certain amount of energy in the form of food in order to remain healthy. An anorexic does not eat enough to sustain themselves, and therefore will get skinny due to malnutrition. When they start eating again - assuming that they don't kill themselves in the process - their metabolism will be very slow, and they'll be more likely to get fatter faster because their body will store away as much fat as it can to survive the next bout of starvation.
Eating a little food at regular intervals keeps your blood sugar from going down long enough to trigger that fat-storage process, therefore you wind up actually losing weight. Just keep the food healthy and the amounts small, and you'll be healthy, happy and trim.

Anorexics don't eat, but they also exercise a lot. If you exercise a lot, and still eat moderately you will still lose weight, plus your body will stay healthy and look more attractive than an anorexic. Those same dieticians will say you need to do regular calorie burning exercise and strength training to maintain your muscle mass. So, what you need to do is find someone to put you on a structured program and monitor your progress.

This has been said briefly, but to summarize - anorexics are so thin because they do not gain their energy from food, and therefore must use up stored organic compounds to get energy to live. When you begin to starve yourself, carbohydrates are used up first, not fats. Then fats are used, and then proteins. After this, the body begins to use other organic molecules such as the ones that make up your DNA, which causes your body to deteriorate and you die. Approximately 150,000 women die a year from anorexia.
It's true; if you starve yourself, your body will 'hold on' to fat more, to prevent the body from losing too much energy. But it can only hold on so much. Anorexics lose the weight, because they are dying. It's the truth.
The best way to lose weight is to eat whatever you want but to eat healthily. As you decrease your portions, your stomach should unstretch a little and cause you to feel more full after you eat. Also, exercise is very important. The only healthy way to burn stored fat is to exercise.

It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way you have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Plus click on "Pure Water" to make sure the water you drink doesn't hurt you. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
