men cheat because women cheat.
women cheat because they are idiots.
allow me to explain why women cheat.. every person has needs they need met. romantically, emotionally, physically, etc.
if we focus on romantic needs (they may overlap with emotional and physical, but we wont get into that), 0% = no needs met, and 100% = all needs met. this is for both guys and girls.
some people place more emphasis on certain needs, so it SEEMS like all their needs are met, when in actuality, they're just ignoring other needs. healthy people can balance this out, and live and be happy.
some people just ignore other needs, and are happy with what they have. they can balance this, and be okay.
no one is perfect, so it is impossible for anyone to have 100% of any of their needs met, wether it be meeting their own needs, or someone else meeting those needs.
however, women are sluuts and are completly incapable of caring about the needs of others. that translates into their unjustified desire to have 100% of their needs met.
despite this feat being impossible to acheive as noted above, they want it anyway. most often times, their sluutyness begins here.
to compensate, they do this. they find a man. lets say he is near perfect, and can meet 89% of all the needs the woman has. shoot, id go as far in this example to say he meets 98.9% of those needs. thats REALLY GOOD, right? a woman should count her blessings and stay faithful, right?
WRONG! because of the inherent sluuty nature of most women, they still feel like the guy isnt doing his job, so now they have to meet another 1.1%. since the guy cannot EVER do this, she finds some other guy (or guys) to meet the unmet needs.
now she has 100% of her needs met in HER mind, but she's sacrificing the 98.9 % for a mere 1.1% !!
and when the GUY becomes agitated, demanding faithfulness, she dumps the 98.9% for the 1.1%. and then the vicious cycle of selfishness and sluutyness continues.
so to answer your question, guys cheat, but only in response to women cheating. the incidence of women cheating is VERY, VERY, VERY high. thats why its so prevelant.

I would like to know your results to this, I think in the past it is about 30% of the men I know have cheated on their girls and about 20% of the girls...which means its pretty even I think...men lie on the high side, women lie on the low side, this would make it about 25% or 1/4 of all relationships.....what they need to do is talk about wanting or needing outside relationships and trying an open relationship, those don't alway work either, but it is better than cheating....and when they do work, then everyone is happy.......

1) It depends on how the relationship is grounded. Chances of betrayal are low if both partners have been genuine at the beginning of the relationship. Artificial fronts get quickly exposed during a longer period of interaction. Thus later the partner who loses interest begins to stray.
2) i think its mostly men who have expressed some commitment (probably to get sex) and now find their partners getting a little boring, are the ones to behave like this, i.e. not have the decency to tell their partner that its over.

in all honesty I think everybody does. Everyone I know including myself has. I was in love with my ex and got with a neighbor and that ended that. But really, everyone I know male and female have all cheated
