The AF and Navy have been and are still making huge cuts in personnel.

As a matter of fact that AF is looking at cutting another 3000 people this year most of them being SrA and SSgt.

All they keep throwing in our face is going into the Army after they give us the boot.

Is it just me or does it kinda seem that they are just setting us up to go into the Army. I know in my personal opinon. I joined the AF right after I turned 18. I now am married and have 3 kids so if the AF gives me the boot I (and a lot of other military people) cant afford to just say ok I will go work at McDonalds. I almost have no choice but to go Army......

Do you think the military branches are strategically setting all this up.

Yeah I do, I was a victim of Down Sizing back in the 90's I joined right outta H.S. in 87 sayed in for 10 yrs, I made rank quick, then spent 6 yrs trying to make E6. I was told you can make rank but cross rate over to Diff MOS, but be the Junior person as E6 junior in Knowledge. I said no so they handed me walking papers with Good Conduct Discharge and ability to come back in if I wanted to...I chose not to, and now work in Law Enforcement making more Money her back in Texas....there is Life a better outside of the Military... I did it

I don't see anything wrong with the Army. If you have a chance to switch, give it a try. You might even like the change. If you like to work around aircraft, the Army has that, and many other high-tech MOS's. Good luck.

I hope you learned some good skills while you were in the air force....or you may have to go the army...the air force generally is the higher tech of the four branches so maybe they need those people in their army and marines it could be away of shifting resources
