I firmly believe that every healthy person should do it! It's just selfish not to.

I think it's hypocritical for our society to insist that everyone gets to profit from donated organs except the person who donated it. It would be like saying everyone from the shipper to the grocery store can charge a markup on produce but farmers have an obligation to grow it for free.

Think about this: Hospitals now have a significant financial incentive to let you die (or make you die); they can make tens of thousands on the tissues from one body, and your estate gets all of jack sh*t. That donor card could be your death warrant.

They can have my kidney when they're willing to pay cold, hard cash for it.

I used to imagine organ donation changed into nasty. i do not favor all of us digging round in my body for factors. The older i'm getting and the further people I meet who've diseases, and the further people i comprehend who die, I comprehend it must be a positive determination to donate. i'm rather on the fence. i comprehend if i'm lifeless I received't favor the organs. i'm nonetheless on the avoidant degree about this i wager... even as my mom died, the nurses had the interest economic organization on the line interior minutes, which changed into rather tacky, yet time is of the essence even as it contains harvesting. We did donate them, if only to analyze, yet i did not like that. when I noted that the funeral abode expenses to "recreate" the eyes if bumped off, i changed into further creeped out.

Eh...I think it's a good idea, but I don't think I would want to be a donor. I'd rather have my body intact, with all of my organs, when I die. I don't want to sound rude or selfish or anything, but I just don't like the idea of someone taking my organs...is that selfish?
