i adooooore sims (the original) and sims 2. call me a dork, but i absolutely love it!!! but does anyone know how to work the webiste? thesims2.com? i dont get the whole downloading lots and sims thing. if i download something shouldnt i get to use it?? if not, whats the point of offering ppl to download things they cant do anything w/...plz help me!!

It's okay.
For downloading, you can download free things. For the rest you have to pay. (There's a small icon by each thing showing if it's free or not.)
If you already have files downloaded, then you have to install them by searching for the SIMS 2 downloads folder and pasting the files into there. Then you should be able to use them
http://www.modthesims2.com is a better site. Everything's free.

When I am downloading Sims2 stuff, I put it all in a folder in My Documents (Sims2_07222006) so that all my downloads are in 1 place. Sims2 downloads from thesims2.com are sims2 installlable packages. You just have to double click them and they install in the correct file. If you download from any other site, the files could be zip, rar, or sims2 installable packages. If the files are zips or rars, you will need to extract them into the correct sims2 folder. Just about everything needs to be extracted into the sims2 downloads folder. Houses are extracted to sims2 teleport folder... where they kinda hang out until the game is played. But, most lots/houses are uploaded as sims2 installable packages and just double click them and they go to the right place... you only need to worry about the teleport folder if you download a house/lot that is zip or rar. I know what you mean - I totally love the Sims 2 too!!! I can get so addicted to downloading new hairdos and clothes and stuff. When you download something, you are definitely allowed to use it. The only issues that people have when you download their creations is that they usually don't want you to alter it and present it as your own work. But using it in your game is fine. I enjoy going to www.thesimsresource.com for my downloads.

i like the sims 2. it's okay i guess. it's just kind of slow on my computer. I think it's fun making the people sad. So it's fun. I like the freedom with the people though. I just don't like the speed it goes at. I don't get downloading stuff though. I heard you have to have the cd rom game in the hardrive. then download it to you cd. i guess.
