I don't think people with a true mental disorder can tell the difference between what is right and what is wrong. I don't mean someone that has bi-polar or something like that. I am talking brain injury or mental retardation and stuff like that. I don't think they are responsible for the things they do. Most of the time the mimic what others have done anyways.

Well if the act was done with intent and awareness, then it needs to be brought before Him for forgiveness. And one needs to repent of it, meaning not to engage in the act further.

Also, many people think they have a mental disorder when they really don't, make sure its checked out by a licensed physician. Undergoing alot of stress and strain doesn't constitute a mental disorder.

There is no excuse for sin. This may seem heartless, but God is not only loving, but just.

People with a mental disorder need Jesus to atone for their sins the same as anyone else.

Christ is the answer!!!!

Sin comes first in the heart, and then sometimes is acted upon. A mentally ill person will not be held accountable if there was no motive, no plan, no concept of an outcome. Sin is willful disobedience.

I don't know if the bible mentions anything about a person that commits sin and have a mental disorder..................

But I know that the read says that God has a special place for those that haven't reached the age of understanding......So I would think a person that commits sins that has a mental problem may not understand they have committed sin
So God wouldn't judge them.............

The Lord is a fair Judge he knows the heart. He will compensate for those who cannot help themselves. In some cases if very bad they will go to heaven with out having to be judged just the same as a little child.

Well, we all sin...everyperson. It doesn't matter if you have a mental illness or not. But if you have like Turretts or something that causes you to curse, I don't think that would be the same as you just deciding to curse someone out. But you would have to try to limit what you do.

You could always pray and should pray for God to help you.

If something they said or did was done without free-will. As in a schizophrenic episode, then it is not a sin as they did not understand or have the capacity to stop; therefore, they lacked the free-will to commit a sin.

Hope that helped.

God bless!

That;s a good question, wouldn't you think that it's up to the church to pray for those mentally ill that they may recover and understand the gospel. unless they do understand in their own way. i actually wonder the same thing often times.

You have to read the three "lost" parables Christ gave to the Jews: the sheep that was lost, the coin that was lost, the lost son and phathom the mental accomplishments of those objects.
