Absolutely nothing has been achieved besides a lot of people dying that never should have, and the United States getting more involved a never ending religious war. Bush wanted a military base in the Middle East, and he got it; now more people can die as he brings us into World War III before his presidency is over...

Just like any war, there a positives and negatives. I think the Americans had good intentions, they simply misread the ppl they were liberating. If the Iraqis would unify against a common enemy, be it the terrorist trying to tear their country in two, or even the American troops, then they would heal their wounds and become the model for mid-east peace as Dubya hoped would happen. I think the Iraqis can conquer this because they are a strong ppl, but I don't think they could do it without the Americans.

Ask an Iraqi? I would feel the people (men/women) the Americans sent there and their individual response (to people, civilians etc) make the result.
I HOPE IT IS FOR THE GOOD, because alot of people are effected (both the US and Iraqi, and the world)!
Note?- Could you list the achievements? It would be easier to give a better reply?
Have a great day mate.

we made a bit of a mixed bag in Iraq.
i supported (and still do) the war but i think that we may have erred in anticipating the level of resistance that would be present. that having been said i think that most Iraqis are glad to be rid of Saddam and have no interest or stake in the insurgency. evidence of that is in the number of people enlisting in the army and police force in spite of the very real threat of harm coming them or their family. i think it is the nature of every person to want to be free and basically lead a happy life. these islamists are both a minority and a soon (20-30 years) to be extinct sub-culture.
in closing i rate the American achievements at a 6.5 turning to a 10 in the mid future.

I know first hand that we have achieved a lot over there. Its the stuff that you wont see on the news like kids and families coming up thanking you for making it a safer place for them.

The news dont like the report that sort of stuff they only report the negatives.

I would give them a D. Sure, Sadaam is gone, but the country is in a total state of disarray right now and is a breeding ground for terrorist activity. This isn't making the world a safer place.

If you consider that we took out the only Dictator regime that was able to hold Iraq in check, and gave it to the Iranians lock stock and barrel. I would say we did real well for our enemies, With a president like Bush & company, who in the hell needs enemies.

Practice makes perfect. the time will come us or them. who is right when there are to many sides, but you can't be neutral. Iraq is a trial and error session. Practice for what? Stay tuned you will see!

slow and steady wins all. whoever thought this would be brief and a first round KO is disillusioned.
I think that we are making progress every day, talk to a service man, don't watch liberal news.
