Yeah my friend is sick and she wants to know how many calories you burn when you have a fever. K thanks

The answer to the question has to do with RMR or resting metabolic rate (also known as BRM or REE). To learn how to calculate this rate you can go to my site at: www.betterlifetoday.com and visit the FAQ (frequently asked questions section).

Unfortunately, without knowing the 'type' of fever your friend has (i.e., is it bacterial or viral in nature, is it causing or caused by overproduction of cellular acids, inflammation, etc.) I can't hazard a guess as to how many extra calories would be burned. While fevers, in general, increase RMR (normally not above 10%) some fevers actually reduce RMR (again, normally not below 10%) -- it all depends on the type of fever.

lol, i think she may be a bit obsessed over burning calories. You dont burn calories when you are running a fever. You burn calories all day while your body functions and moves. You burn around 500 calories just by sleeping at night and around 7 when you brush your teeth.
