are there litter and litter boxes(bathroom box) for dogs? if so, how long does it take to train? it would be a nice substitute for dog walking( bathroom purposes).

i currently owned a cat and am pleased with their bathroom savvyness. i might wanna hold off on considering a dog if they can't do this and i have to pick up after them all the time.

Noooo na-na-na Noooo....you do NOT want your dog to use the litter box... It may seem like a good idea...
My puppy, 4 1/2 month old eskie, just climbed into in my cats litter box just this morning... (the type that has a cover)yes, she started digging yes, the litter got ALL OVER the place... and the litter was tracked by her furry paws... LUCKILY, I had just changed it and it was FRESH litter....please, let me stress...NOT a good idea.
I did find something at Walmart when I started house training her, it's paper training, but it's made out of the same material as diapers, its absorbant, and it doesn't stink. It looks like a big 2' square diaper and you lay it flat and you actually paper train using that instead of newspapers. I forgot the name of it though... but I definitely found it at walmart in the pets section.

No, you housebreak puppies no longer litter train them. I do know of toy breeds with a purpose to go on a piddle pad or in a box however that's not going to work with a larger canine and there's no reason to anyway. You instruct the dog to relieve itself external within the fenced/secured yard and then let it back in the apartment. If your brother's condo has been damaged into then I advocate he get an alarm approach or every other safety approach and not try to depend on a dog that he and you have no actual abilities related to training. Anyway, if the person that broke in used to be a 'friend' then the canine don't have been any protection to with. He needs higher buddies, higher locks, and an alarm method - not wasting time looking to litter teach a pit bull.

yes, dogs can be trained to use the litter box. pet smart sells litter boxes for dogs called 'second nature' and they come in different sizes. i have a dog that i tried to train to use the litter box. at first i used the litter that is sold for dogs, but she didn't use it. then i started using the litter box for my cats with cat litter in it. now my dog uses it also when i am not home and she can't hold it.

Paper training is essentially the same thing as a cat going in a litterbox. It's just not in their nature to cover their business up though. The paper training doesn't take long. It takes a month at the longest if you have a stubborn or slow puppy. I would not reccomend getting an older dog if you want it paper trained unless the previous owner taught it.

Actually yes. When my dog was a puppy she was trained by the breeders to use a litter box, She was a decent sized dog too (springer spaniel) so it shows any dog can be trained to do it, I did not keep her doing this though i housebroke her. you can buy bigger sized litter box's and dog litter at like petsmart i believe.

No, you housebreak dogs no longer muddle prepare them. i comprehend of toy breeds which will bypass on a piddle pad or in a field yet that isn't any longer going to artwork with a significantly better dogs and there is no reason to besides. You prepare the dogs to alleviate itself outdoors interior the fenced/secured backyard and then enable it again interior the abode. in case your brother's abode has been damaged into then I recommend he get an alarm equipment or another safe practices equipment and under no circumstances attempt to position self assurance in a dogs that he and also you've were given no genuine understanding concerning education. besides, if the guy who broke in turned right into a 'pal' then the dogs does no longer were any safe practices to commence with. He needs extra proper friends, extra proper locks, and an alarm equipment - no longer dropping time attempting to muddle prepare a pit bull.
