i currently have a stray chihuahua at home. when he first came he wouldn't eat or drink and then after a while he started to eat the dog food we gave him. but now he is eating less and less. WHY? and he sneeze a lot too. WHY?

Thanks for taking the little guy in. Chihuahuas are the best breed. That is why I have them. They do not eat as much in the summer. Maybe that is why. He may have allergies that make him sneeze. Also they get cold easily if he is inside under an A/C. Maybe try a new food and see if he will eat it. Are you keeping him inside?

Possiably the warm summer weather is a factor. Is it hot where you live? Make sure to have fresh water out for him at all times. Keep an eye on the sneezing and it if get's worse or continues take him to the vet.

If he was a stray, he could have kennel cough or he could have parvo.
I would get him checked out by a vet and then get him updated on his shots.
I hope for your sake, he doesn't have parvo. It's very costly and hard to get rid of. But kennel cough isn't that bad. It is curable!
Please, for the dogs sake, get him checked out. One of the 1st signs of parvo is loss of apetite and vomiting. And sneezing could just be allergies or at worst, kennel cough!

Hes home sick, give him love lots of it, should come around. He may have alergies (sneezing). Chihuahua's can get alergies just like humans.

Put him on a course of de-worming drugs like Piperazine Citrate/Albendazole/Levamisole etc. Take him to a vet to inspect him!!!

take him to the nearest vet .Its only like 30 dollars and he could have a chip in his back that tells his owner or look in the paper .he could be sad or sick. vet is the best answer.

im not real sure but mabie it got use to you being around when he eats did you sit with him when you first got him?
