This type of thing is EXACTLY what the government is there for. It is there to help you out when you can't help yourself. For example, the government provides fire and police service, protection of the country from war, etc. I think that the government should help those people out of the war zone because there is no way for them to get out on their own.

Only those who have no money should have gotten a free ride. Of course how many poor people were over there on vacation? Almost everyone they rescued were either upper middle class or rich. That is why they complained so much about the rescue. They are used to luxury, so they whined when they did not get it.Yes they were warned and chose to go so they should pay. Something for me to think about tomorrow when I am working in a 110 degree kitchen. Those who have more money than me and got a free ride on my sweat

They should foot the bill themselves. They are now crying because as Hurricane Katrina showed us all too well, we are a nation of spoiled cry-babies and we expect the government to bail us out of any and all predicaments. The government told N.O. that they would be on their own if they stayed after they were ordered to evacuate. Once the storm hit, the cry-babies came out like roaches wanting to blame the government. What a bunch of morons. We are seeing the same thing in Lebanon.

Number one, first and foremost our life is our own personal responsibility. Second of all, the U.S. taxpayers pay for everything, and it has gotten so far out of control we will never be able to rein it in. I fight back by taking every single deduction I am entitled to and by refusing to contribute to charitable organizations that support people who are on welfare but somehow manage to weigh 500 pounds, smoke four packs a day, have satellite TV and a Louis Vuitton handbag. Sorry. Some things really get me angry.

No the military uses its budget to pay for it. Should the US tax payers have to spend there hard earned money to support lazy people on welfare?

No. If they've got the means to live there, they should have the means to flee on their own. I suppose it'd be my own responsibility if i had relatives involved, which i don't.
