Your baby is fine. Don't let these people frighten you with their nonsense. My wife had our last child at 43. Her doctors did extensive testing and really had us worried. Each test came back supposedly inconclusive so more tests were always necessary. In the end they told us we would just have to wait and see and hope for the best.
Our son was born healthy, with 0 problems.
Later when he started school he tested higher than anyone in our school system had ever seen. He tested in the 99th percentile in all of the 6 categories the tests covered. This was in the 99th percentile nation wide not just in our school system.
When his teacher told us this It really struck me that we had allowed someone to get us so worried that he might have been born retarded or something to that effect. It made me angry that he was put through all of the pointless tests that might have caused infections or other complications. If this would have happened they would have said see we were right, there was something wrong with him. Remember this when these people are pushing their fears on to you. They may mean well but God is the one in charge. Trust in God that your child is fine.
Love and blessings.
Don

Certainly, I will pray. I am the father of a disabled child. If your child does have downs please know that all children are a blessing. Kids with special needs are not any less of a blessing. Sometimes God does things different than we would have planned. But he knows what is best for you and for your child. Remember Roman 8:28 "We know that God works in all things to bring about good for those that love him." It says he works"in" all things. So it doesn't mean that he causes babies to be born disabled. But it does mean that he can take anything and turn it into exactly the blessing that you needed. Even if you didn't know that's what you needed. That's what he did with me and my son.

HON, they told me that stuff too with my middle son. I was worried...and quit work and read books. Prepared myself...they wanted me to TERMINATE my pregnancy...saying raising a child like that would be difficult.
Guess what? I had my baby, he is PERFECT, and he did not have it. I would have loved him either way. However, i DID pay attention to the results of ALL the tests and am watching him carefully now. Just in case, my husband has a genetic disorder my son COULD get. I love my son, and have enjoyed every moment with him these past 6 years and crave more!
I will pray for you and your baby. No matter what...everything is gonna be ALL right!

I had that happen with my last pregnancy hon. I will pray for you and your baby. My results were like 1/130 and my baby is fine. There are a lot of false positives so don't get too excited about it. Just take it easy and remember that having a child with down's isn't really all that bad.

No. I hope both you and your baby are fine but I won't pray, that's just a silly superstition.
