Where can I go to just be alone?

Question

At home I can't act like myself or I'll just worry my mom. I can't even close my bedroom door. What are some places I can go to get away and just be alone for a while? I live in a small city area.

I would say my mom is a tad bit controlling...that is since she found out I cut...but please no comments on how I should stop! Just stick to the "Where can I go to be alone?" question please!

look i been thru wat u going through. Being alone is hard. People are right, takin a walk in the park can always get u alone. but then there's the ppl surrounding u and u live in a small city. Just walk around until u see an isolated place. if ur mom seriously doesn't let you out or something, then ur bathroom could be good too. then again ur mom might not let you. seriously, try to take more walks until you see a place for yourself. AND JUST YOURSELF. if it's really what you want.

there is a "psychological" test called "myers-briggs typology", more or less, that shows how different we all are one from another. if you take it, probably available online, you might discover that you are an infp or infj. these two "types" need quite a lot of time alone for reasons discussed there. "unfortunately" for them, they make up only about 3-5% of the world's population. so, perhaps they are a bit misunderstood. i'm an infp and can tell you that although it can be a bit challenging at times, with the creativity that usually comes with it you'll do fine. and, also, try exercise and meditation to build up your energy if you feel the need. good luck

Well, I would say, a park or bookstore, but sometimes if I don't feel like going somewhere for some quiet time, I fake a nap and just think about things, shutting myself off from other peoples' sounds in the house and find myself some inner piece in my head/imagination. Just fake a nap and everyone will leave you alone, cuz they don't wanna disturb u then.

Take a long soak in the tub. Obviously you will be alone in there. Take a book and tell your mother you're going to soak and read. Something must've happened if your not allowed to close your bedroom door. You haven't given us the whole story I think.

sounds like the last thing you need is to be alone. Because if privacy was a true issue you would find it.

But if your mom would worry about you as a result of you being yourself. Go see a counselor or a priest and tell them whats going on.

Go to the park.
With your headphones...And drown everyone out. Sit on the swings. Its really relaxing.
Ive done it countless times just to get away from everything.
Or go on a walk around your block a few times. Its healthy and relieves stress.

Your story sounds a little disturbing like you really need to be watched. Maybe if you elaborated a little bit more about being yourself it might be easier to understand why. Headphones might work but you should have tried that by now. I think you need to go back to that place in your mind that it all started in the first place.

If you go outside the house...It's not good to be alone, ya know what I'm talking about...It's not real safe. Tell everyone you re going to soak in the bath tub and listen to some music while your in there...Make sure everyone has gone to the bathroom before you take your soak.
