Four to five weeks old? She is very young. If you keep doing what you're doing, she will learn to use the litter box. Make sure she goes there all the time, or very often, however. The reason she probably isn't trained is because she's so young. Mothers always teach their kittens to use the litter box. I suppose you have to do this now.

Litter training is pretty easy. And can be tought to a kitten in a few days. Just fallow these steps:
First, place the little box far away from where the kitten eats. She doesn't want to eat dinner in the same place she releases the food. XD
1. Sit her in the litter box and let her leave on her own.(This way, she'll learn WHERE it is)
2. If you have droppings from the last time she went, place a few of those in the litter bix. (This will let her know WHAT the box is for)
3. If she's went on the floor somewhere else, place the littlebox (if you can) where she had her accident. (Cats like to go in one perticular area)
4. Sprinkle catnip near/in the littlerbox to incourage use.
5. Praise her after he'd succefully used it.
To make sure she continues to use the litterbox:
1. Make sure its always clean! Some cats will absolutely refuse to go in a dirty box.
2. Try not to move the little box. This will confuse the kitten.

Keep her 'territory' small and with no obstacles to get to the litter box. If she poos on the floor...pick it up and place it in her later box and then put her in the litter box...hopefully you will catch her while she is doing it...or even just before.
You can expand her territory as she gets more dependable using the litter box. Cats don't really need much training on the litter box...it's a natural inclination...but kittens have smaller, weaker bladders and will have 'accidents'.
When our Molly was still a kitten...she used her litter box pretty consistantly...it was upstairs...but once in awhile she would go on the floor downstairs...I finally figured out that she was headed to the litter box, but couldn't quite make it because she was going at the foot of the stairs...so I just go a second litter box to put by the stairs and that fixed the problem. Once she was big enough to go up and down the stairs with no problem...I went back down to one litter box.
This is why you need to keep her initial territory 'small'...if she has to travel far to get to her box...she might not make it.
If you do clean up 'accidents' make sure you use a pet cleaner that has enzymes...such as Nature's Miracle-available at the pet store. Otherwise, the kitty might start going in the same place over and over.

If you are having to make her poo and pee it is still early. She needs to be placed in the litter box several times a day, and with a moist paper towel stimulate her as you usually do. This will help her associate her using the bathroom with the litter box. I also scratch their feet in the box on occasion/ It does take patience and she will come around. It sounds like you have been doing a great job so far. The other suggestions about litter box placement are great also. I don't recommend using newspaper as one time it happened by accident and the cat STILL pees on all paper products. (my fault, not his)

Kittens wont start going in the litter box until their a bit older. They'll want to go in there instead of a newspaper... just instinct.

Keep doing what your doing... Keep her litter box close to her and they normally catch on to the idea of using it fairly quickly. She may not have "learned" how to go to the bathroom yet.

it depends on how much you stress it to her! it's just like teaching a dog how to use the outside instead of the underside of the couch or it's fave corner in the living room! it just takes time!
