Keep it short and loving. Since you're nervous about talking in public, write down what you want to say and don't be embarassed to read it. One of the greatest best man speeches I ever heard started with "This is too important of an occasion for me not to have come prepared" and he then immediately pulled out of his tux pocket a piece of paper from which he read the toast. It was really nice. Good luck and congratuations!!

First off .. its your daughters wedding .. your paying for it .. you really dont have to be nervous. To help your nervousness, try writing some ideas down on paper on what you are going to say, but don't write out your whole speech, it will only make you more nervous to have to read from a small card. Let it come natrurally, and kee your head up.
Second, say why you think the bride and groom are perfect for each other, how he has impacted your family and changed it for the better, and give them you blessings, and welcome him to the family. Don't forget to smile and try to hold back the tears!
Have a great time. Good Luck

Write it out beforehand, that way you can do it from the heart and it will sound like you. Make sure you tell her how much you love her, how much you're looking forward to spending time getting to know her husband, how you feel about having him in your family. It's ok if you read it too. Just speak from your heart and you will be fine! Congratulations!

When my sister got married, our dad was nervous and we could tell. But what we suggested was to look directly at her and speak from the heart, as if you were giving her your final words! He did and it was beautiful. Look your daughter in the eye, directly talk to her and your new SIL and talk from the heart....It will be beautiful.
Highlight her firsts...her first steps, her first words, first day of school, her first date, first car...first meeting w/ SIL and the first day of your little girl turning into a woman....I know it will be beautiful!

It doesn't have to be anything long and drawn out ...You are just wishing the bride and groom well
Just say what is in your heart ...no rehearsal needed for that
