when im on a airplane, later on, i hear a bit different with my ears for a while, then when im off my ears are regular.
TIP: don't have the water or ice they give you on the plane, it's dirty. if the water is in a water bottle go ahead drink it.

The water on the plane has nothing to do with your ears. The ice is fine, it's not made on the plane, but unless your given a bottle for yourself, it most likley came from aircraft water tank. Bring your own water, just incase. As for your ears, hold your nose and mouth and exhale. if your flying with an ear or sinus infection make sure you use afrin or some kind of nasal decongestant (or if you have cronic pain when flying) I hate nasal spray, but have to use it when flying and I fly for a living. chewing gum also helps

Please, the airline has a reputation to uphold. The water and ice are fine.

As for your ears, this is due to pressure differential inside your ears and the outside pressure. As the plane take off, your inner ear pressure is higher than outside, so you hear a lot of noise. Once youequalise the pressure, it will feel quieter. Same as when the airplane is descending for landing.

That's when your ear pops, when you hear everything a little quieter; it seems like things are smothered. Try swallowing really hard, or chewing gum to fix it
