I have lost around 60 lbs in 6 months and I will tell you what not to eat. The first myth we have been told is that fat is bad. Sugar and carbohydrate are the big nasties. In fact, reduced fat food that has had some of the fat removed is actually more fattening than the regular food because the removed fat in most cases has been replaced with carbs! This is the main reason why you must absolutely stay away from ALL processed food with no exception. Eat fresh and natural. You must have 3 meals a day and get into a routine so your body knows when to expect food. Your body is capable of doing exquisite things to avoid weight loss if it thinks it’s going to get starved, so you must feed it and regularly.
The other thing you must do is keep your insulin as low as possible by getting sugar and carbs in your diet as close to zero as you can and not having ANYTHING between meals except water. Also having at least 5 hours between one meal and another. The last meal of the day must be no later than 9pm. Insulin is a hormone that will absolutely block fat and protein burning in your body and force it to burn sugar, that's how it works. You will NOT lose weight with your blood stream flooded with insulin, even with exercise. It’s impossible. You must have at least 8 glasses of water a day in order for your liver and kidneys to excrete the fat from your body this is crucial.
Now, what you must stay away from and I mean, non at all. Bread, pasta, rice, pastry, flour of any kind, sugar, potato, onion, parsnip, sweet potato, pumpkin, beetroot, carrots, peas, beans, beer, sweet wine, spirits, spreads like butter and margarine and be very careful of sauces and condiments. Fruit and milk should be taken very, very sparingly because they are fattening. Fruit is full of sugar too, only a very small amount. Avoid all processed food including diet soda it will stimulate insulin. 3 cups of black tea or coffee WITH meals a day is OK. Use Stevia for a sweetener.
OK, if you are still with me, what can you eat? In a nutshell you replace the carbs you have removed with protein and green leafy vegetables. Do not mix protein only 1 per meal. This is what you can eat. Lean meat, poultry, fish, cheese, yoghurt and eggs are your permitted proteins. Cauliflower, cabbage, sprouts, broccoli, capsicum, mushroom, celery, zucchini and a small amount of tomato. You can have unlimited amounts of lettuce and cucumber but ONLY at meal times. You can use balsamic vinegar as a dressing; mustard is ok too but only made from the powder. Shop bought is full of sugar! Curry powder in cooking can be used as well. One tablespoon of olive oil is ok per day, in cooking and as a dressing. Garlic is OK but not shop bought; you guessed it, full of sugar. Use fresh.
I will GUARANTEE if you stick to this you will loose heaps of weight, fast. I know it's not easy and you need the support of your family too.
Just another couple of things I forgot. NO breakfast cereal and avoid really heavy exercise you will just burn glycogen in your muscles, not fat and it will just make you sore and tired. You need prolonged gentle exercise to burn fat like walking. You don't need to exercise at all on this diet as long as you're moving about. Last but not least read food labels and look at the ingredients. Avoid foods like the plague with more than 5 grams of carbohydrate per 100 grams. If you like a drink, Semillon Sauvignon Blanc (very dry and low in carbs) with a little soda water is OK with meals.
Good Luck. Jules, lecturer. Australia.

Hi!
Well, the only way to loose weight is either eating less or doing some sort of exercise preferably a combination of both. You could start by getting rid of food with a high level of carbohydrates and instead eat food with proteins. Try to do a couple of push-ups in the morning and get it in to your routine, it will make you feel much better. Go for a walk in the evening, you don't have to be a fitness freak to be healthy. It's difficult at first and it might take a while before you get results, but it's worth the bother in the long run. It's very important that you stick to your routine, it's not as hard to loose weight as you think, but it takes some discipline. There's also a good book called "The Obvious Diet" where you can find alot of helpful advice on eating. The worst thing you could do is stop eating, crash diets will make you put on more weight.
Good Luck!

Stick to "The Stone-Age Diet" for a couple of months. Fish, meat, fruit and veg. some nuts and seeds. Cut out simple carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, rice cous-cous, potatoes and cakes and bicuits. Not only will you lose weight but you'll feel terrific and probably won't want those junk foods anymore. You don't have to be a health bore. Just eat what is good for you. It's usually possible to have a steak and salad when in a restaurant. Or grilled fish and salad or vegetables. You might eventually like it so much that you want to stay on it forever! You'll certainly be giving your body a treat.

Yuk, I hate gyms too. Walking is good, though its probably gonna make u a bit out of breath being a big as you are (dont worry, im not gonna be nasty, Im not exactly kate moss either!)
Cut down on fats, use spray oil to fry instead of dolloping oil in the saucepan, use sweetenenrs instead of sugar, grill instead of fry when u can, when u have carbohydrates like psta or potatoes, try not to eat too much meat wiht them. Eat more vegetables.
Cut down on pastry, fill up on fruit and salads, they are pretty much low in calories, so you cn eat loads.
Have your beer & kebab once a week or better still one a fortnight as you treat. You will appreciate it so much more if you abstain!
Drink diet coke etc, instead of beer when u socilise during the week.
Your mates will honestly admire you for trying, so give it a go.
I hope you manage to shed some weight, its hard and takes a awhile, aim for 2-3 pounds a week and dont get disheartenend if one week you dont lose any, jut cary on trying.
Also pop along to your doctor and see if they have any dietitian working there that can help you
All the best from one chubby to another! XXXXXX

An evening walk, briskly around the neighbor hood every evening might be good for starters. You could also lift weights, maybe like canned food and use that as exercise. Do Stairs, park a long way away from where you need to go and walk the rest of the way. It's surprising how such little changes make such a big change after a while. Good luck.

Ha, hey man you just gotta get into a routine. My routine takes an hour and a half outta my day. You don't have give up anything except your choice between the boob tube or sculpting yourself. Just and hour and a half or less, think about it. Two words, body weight. You can destroy fat and get lean muscle through basics like pushups and pull ups. Utilize your bodys weight to take full advantage. While you may not see results through the flab, thats what cardio is for. Run two miles everyday, diet right and look up workouts on how to use your bodyweight towards weight lifting. How do you think martial artists and the Military get so buff? Hope I helped you out. Email me if you want any more info on how to build yourself.

I'd go with reducing your carbs, eating more fruit and doing a little more exercise.
If you're 6ft 6" you will probably start to look ok at around 17 - 18 stone depending on your frame size.

Walk every day for 20 minutes and stop being a weakling and abstain from eating excessive amount of food. If you can't do it then I suggest go and live in third world country, there is much less food available and much less temptation, you are sure to lose weight. I write this with genuine intention, just think about it.

stop eating. it's really that simple. [a stone is 14 pounds, making you about, omg, 280!! - well, at 6'6" you should weigh 220. losing sixty pounds, hmmmm, yeah, stop eating.] don't fall for the c rap you hear about how unhealthy it is to not eat. those people usually have stock in food companies.
drink lots of water, and fast for a couple of days. religious adherents have been safely doing it for centuries. after, say 2 or 3 days, you will want to eat less than before. it will be downhill from there.

Drink 2 or 3 glasses of water before you eat, it will fill you up so you don't want so much to eat. You will lose weight without feeling deprived of any foods.
