1. If you want to set the picture as the background, Insert a picture => Right click on it [or double click] => Format Picture => Layout => Behind Text. Click outside the picture and you'll see the blinking pointer, where you can begin typing.

2. If you want to resize the picture, just click and drag one of the handles on the picture.

3. To change the direction of the page, File => Page Setup => Landscape.

Very possible. Set document as Landscape. Copy and Paste the picture that you want. Using the squares around the edge of the pic, adjust it so that it fills the page. Insert a Text Box with a transparent background and type whatever you want. Use the Help feature in Word to look for more info on any this.

To make the page horizontal: click on file, page setup, and then click on the landscape icon.

To put a picture behind the text: right click on the picture, click on "format picture", then the "layout" tab at the top. Then you should see a few different options for the layout, click on "behind text" and click ok. You can resize the picture to make it take up the whole page as a background or whatever you want to do.

Open up Word. Insert your picture, then expand to cover the page. Then right click selecting Format Picture. Select the Layout Tab and then select Behind Text.
You should be able to type whatever you want on top of your picture.

It is very easy. You need to go to page setup and change the layout to horizontal than go back and type all you want. Or you can type first than change the layout later.

To add a picture just "insert" and than select the picture/file you want to use.

Do you want the page itself to be horizontal? If so, then go to File, Page Setup, Orientiation, and landscape. Or just do a help search for landscape and in a seperate search watermark. Watermark is what you mean for the background. If you need any other help, add more details and I'll try and help.

double click on the picture and change the picture layout so that it appears behind the text. Then you can type over it. Or...use the drawing tools to create a floating text object that you can position over the text.
