Since those words are plural, that would indicate to me there is more than one person - Mrs. God, perhaps? Since the bible is basically a bunch of allegorical tales woven together to make people lead a good life and not based on much fact - for instance, there is no record anywhere of anyone called Moses in Egypt - is it not possible, even realistic, to believe that the Gods are those who came to this planet, mated with the primitive women and helped form the human race? Or is it not feasible that they could have been conducting genetic experiments which would mean someone from somewhere else was here a long time before we were? Some bible-beater will probably give you the old all in one trinity line, but the genetic experiments make more sense.

Remember, the Bible also mentions "there were giants in the land in those days." Who were these people? Were these the Gods who were speaking and making man in OUR image?

Think about it. Remember, not everything you read in the bible is true (think of the Noah story which was preceded by the Sumerian epic of Gilgamesh which is basically the same story). Morality tales.

The us and our is the Trinity - Father Son and Holy Ghost.
John1:1 says:
"In the beginning was The Word-The Word was with God-The Word was God" This shows that Jesus (the word) was with God and was part of the Trinity from the very beginning. It was to the Son and the Holy Ghost that God was speaking when saying "us" and "our".
I hope that makes it a little clearer. It is definately hard to get your mind around the trinity.

That IS interesting. I suppose from a Christian point of view, it implies the presence of the Holy Spirit and the Son of God. See John 1:1-3.

The Holy Trinity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three persons in One God.

It is God the Father speaking to the other members of the Trinity. God is one God with three distinct persons. It is hard/near impossible to understand, but this is a website that has some good descriptions of the Trinity.

God is speaking to the angels....it means He wanted man to have the same capacity for love and conscious thought- something none of the animals He created had.

God and the angels are pure spirits- they have no bodily form, so is does not mean we looke like God.
