Alivia, first of all, you're way too young to be worrying about this. But, I know that me saying that is not going to change things, so I'll try to help you.

My 12-yr-old daughter only weighs 70 pounds, and the doctor says she is underweight. So no, I don't think you are overweight. You're probably just right. And besides, if you're muscular, that adds weight, too. Weight isn't always body fat.

You need to put society's views of thin and fat out of your mind, because the fact is that everyone is different, and no one is perfect. Did you know that even the super models you see everywhere have flaws? They are air-brushed for magazine covers, and their flaws are hidden with camera tricks during shows. The only time they are actually seen for what they truly are is on the runway, and that's why they come and go so quickly. So they're only out there long enough for you to see the outfit they're wearing and nothing else.

The other secret is that everyone is their own worst critic. That means that we always see the worst in ourselves... sometimes stuff that no one else sees at all! We spend too much time on picking ourselves apart, and too little on enjoying the life that God gave us.

Chin up, Honey. God made everyone in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors, so we would all be special in our own ways. He did the same for you, too, and one day you'll realize that.

You're 12. Are you serious? You're not even through puberty and all the changes your body will finish going through. Your weight is fine. From 12-16 a lot of girls gain some weight and for the most part, it will come off shortly after as long as you keep eating correctly. You're not overweight, try focusing on something worth worrying about - like what you want to be when you grow up.

It has to do with how tall you are, and your age. Find a site that computes BMI. Just do a search for BMI calculators. You will find many. Plug in your height and weight. If you are taller, you can weigh more and it's ok because you have a tall frame. I am 5'5'' and I am supposed to weigh between 115 and 135, that's the "healthy zone." Remember, being healthy doesn't mean being skinny. You need to be fit. You can weigh 140 and be fit. It depends on how you wear your weight. Exercise regularly, and eat healthy foods, and you won't have a problem. I would go by your body fat percentage and your BMI #. Don't measure success on the scale, measure it with a tape measure. :)

Ask your doctor. We can't tell just from a number. Your weight and build are also factors. If this is worrying you talk to your parents or another trusted adult; many teens do very harmful things to themselves trying to look 'perfect' when in fact they were not overweight, or only a little. Even if you are overweight, you will need to take a sensible approach to the problem, don't do anything drastic or foolish.

And as someone once said: DO NOT read 'beauty' magazines; they only make you feel ugly.

How tall are you? At your age though, that really should not matter. My daughter is 8 and weighs 100lbs. She is not fat. She is tall for her age. 5'2, and is very athletic. At 115lbs your probaly just fine honey. How do you feel about your body? You are at a very difficult age now and you are probaly uncomfortable with the changes that are happening with your body. Learn to love your body no matter what you weigh!! And keeping active is the best way to stay in shape. Eat smart and drink plenty of water. I don't even know you and I can tell you that you are beautiful!!!!!

First of all, it doesn't sound to me like you are overweight. I dont know how tall you are but you can go to this site and put your height and weight in and it tells you your BMI, which is your fat (basically). I put in a 5'5'', 115 12 year old and it said, that is a perfect weight. I wasn't sure how tall you are so I just put a height in. Check it out.

It depends on how tall you are. My daughter is 18, right at 5ft, and weighs in at about 100-105. She's very muscular, because of Karate, but it's all muscle. It depends on how tall you are. Hey, be a kid, run, jump, play... Your weight will be good as long as you stay active. God bless, and I'm sure you're a lovely young lady.

What's your height? If I know your height then it's easy to know. Try this;

If you have muscles you just may be widely built, which is fine. Just stay the way you are with foods and being active! It's not about weight, so don't let it get to you in any way.
