Byztine Churchs are United under the Pope of rome. But, they have there on Pactices, Theology Etc. Just like Eastern Orthodox Churchs. But, they are not under the pope. I just want to see if anybody was called to the eastern rite or to the Eastern Orthodox Church. I love to here your story. Please share.

I am a Roman Rite Catholic. I am also a convert to the Roman Rite. Theologically I am very Western, which I suppose cannot be helped since I grew up in the west and have a western education. That said, spiritually I am very Eastern. I enjoy going to a very well done Melkite parish when I get the chance. The priest there has a great interest in keeping the traditions of the east and reducing the latinization that many Eastern parishes in the west are afflicted by.

I know absolutely that God wanted me in the Roman Church, even though there is such a strong pull Eastward.

One of my interests in helping Latin Catholics understand that there are Eastern Catholics as well as to help understand their spirituality. I also find that the use of eastern theology when dealing with Protestants to be quite helpful as it sheds a new light on contentious subjects that have been point / counter pointed to death.

I'm a Latin Rite Catholic, but I go to the Latin mass not offered in union with "Rome" and the one of the current claimants to the papacy named "Benedcit XVI" I also attend the Eastern Rites on occaision. If you ever have a chance-- go to a pontifical high mass!

i have never heard of eastern Catholic there only Catholics and Eastern Orthodox they used to be the same church in roman empire, after collapse of the roman empire to East and West Catholic separated them self's from the Church and formed their on Church, the centre of Christianity in roman times was Constantinople ( Istanbul in Turkey ), that's way Orthodox claims to be the only legitimate church of Christianity and they do not like Catholics .

I was for years a R.Catholic, until the holy spirit [by hearing God's word] led me out of the darkness of catholism, like a slave out of Egypt. Salvation is not through a church, the church is the people, how can you be saved through people? [all sinners].
The vatican is satan's greatest joke on mankind, starting with the pope, Jesus says 'if you belong to me, you will be hated as i am hated.' the roman pope with his crown of jewels, having others kiss his ring, living in a palace, is the opposite of humility. my lord wore a crown of thorns, had no place to rest his head, and washed the feet of [served] others.

I am a Roman Catholic, but I have great respect for the Orthodox. I hope that some day, they will both be united again.
