Please see a doctor. You state that you have congestion so you might have a sinus infection, an ear infection, etc...both of those can cause dizziness and lightheadedness, particularly an ear infection. If you have either of these, antibiotics might be necessary to clear it up. However, only a doctor can find out what is really going on with you and so many illnesses share the same symptoms.
You say to stopped the zoloft (not wise without consulting your doctor first...you never stop this medication suddenly). Be sure your doctor knows you stopped it, why and when. If the doctor feels you need to be on this type of medication, he can prescribe a different one for you. When one medication doesn't work or makes you feel terrible, the doctor should always be notified as there are so many alternatives.

Once I got off, all my symptoms went away within 3 days. So I doubt your symptoms are from Zoloft. Talk to your doctor, AND SOON! He can prescribe something else. My problem with Zoloft was this: I had a constant "sheen" or "coating" of water (sweat) over my body 24/7. My entire body. I could dry off with a towel, and before I got dressed it was like I was coated in a light coating of water, even on the soles of my feet I would leave tracks on the floor. After 2 weeks I was going crazy, everytime I passed an air-conditioner or fan, I about froze from the air blowing on me. He put me on something else and I cleared up within 3 days. Been great sense. Only other one I had a side effect on was Prozac and I needed a new Axe anyway.

Stopping any antidepressant suddenly is never recommended. Instead a person should be weaned off these medications gradually. That may explain why you are feeling dizzy and lightheaded. Also, just because one antidepressant didn't work for you, do not give up on all of the antidepressants. Trust me, I've taken just about every one of them available and FINALLY found the one that works for me. Hope this helps, and good luck!

It's extremely unwise to ask medical questions online or attempt to get 100% correct medical information online. Most of the people answering these questions THINK they know, but really aren't sure. Talk to the MD that prescribed the Zoloft for you. There are literally 20+ medications that can be prescribed in place of Zoloft.

First of all I hope that you spoke with your doctor about stopping the medication. I have listed two websites for you to visit to help with your answers. I want to you remember that stopping medication without talking to your doctor can hurt you more than taking the medication. Also please be aware that the body takes a good 6 weeks or more to get adjusted to new medication and for you to see the benefits. I suffered from depression in the past and I know whats it like to have side effects just do not give up. I hope that one of the these sites helps you.

Yes, Zoloft can cause dizziness. It can also cause dry mouth, shortness of breath and a few others. I took it for awhile myself, you may not have been on it long enough for the new symptoms to wear off. I switched to Paxil, it was much better.

Since the market has little logic I cannot understand it. If I may pay nine times profits for a company then why would I buy the stock at 3 times that? Why would the stock market go up when Americans average wage is going down? I earn my money by making something not gambling.

Whatever you do you must taper down gradually if you decide to stop taking it ... don't just quit.
You could call a pharmacist to discuss side effects, but best see a doctor who perscribed this for you .
