My family and I foster dogs and this has happened to us before. The bleeding is not really a bad thing. The bone helps the dog clean its teeth and so it pushes on the gums a bit too, which causes some bleeding. If the dog does not seem like he's in pain, he's probably not. If he really was, he wouldn't keep chewing on the bone. It's okay to keep giving it to him. Or, if it'd make you feel better, buy him nylon bones. You can get them at any pet store and when he gets a bit older, you could start buying him rawhide bones again.

Since your dog is almost one years old, she should not be teething. Dogs generally get their adult teeth at around 4-6 months old.
Sometimes, bleeding gums can be caused by gingivitis. It's normal for the dog's gums to bleed at first, but over time, the dog's gums will get tougher and healthier from the cleaning action of chewing on the rawhide. Another reason might be that a sharp piece of rawhide scraped her gums. That should heal up with no problem. It's always a good idea not to give a dog too much rawhide. It's not the best thing for a dog. A better alternative would be the edible Nylabones or even the original (non edible) Nylabones. If the bleeding continues past a few days or seems like it's a significant amount of bleeding, it might be best to see a vet. There's no reason to be alarmed just yet, and the dog should be just fine continuing to chew the bone.

Rawhide can be dangerous. it can get lodged in the dogs throat or intestines, causing a blockage. If its making his mouth bleed, perhaps he is not used to chewing. Give him nylabones those are safe. The flavored ones. Or chicken jerky tenders. Sams Club has a 2 1/2 lb bag that is really priced well.
I'd stay awat from rawhide and pig ears.
Usually at about 4 months the puppy teeth start falling out and are done coming out by about 7 months. Dog continue to teeth for awhile. But not usually causing bleedling.

some rawhides can be a bit too tough on the gums. Try giving him a Nylabone - they sell some that are for strong chewers - and they are good for the teeth and gums (they also make flavored ones) My 100lb lab loves them and they last a while (or at least longer than any other toy or chew I've given him )

They are teething. This is normal. Mine loves to chew on pop bottles. Her gums bleed every once in a while, but she has some strong jaws. We got the marks to prove it.

There's nothing wrong with it. It's probably his first good bone. A little bleeding is nothing to worry about. Perfectly normal.

It is very possible that it is gingivitis, depending on the dogs age and state of health of their gums and teeth. With gingivitis the gums are red in coloring from a lighter red to deep red. Healthy gums are usually pink in color.

You want to watch out for gum disease - check him for tartar buildup and bad breath - bleeding gums can indicate something needs to be done about his teeth.
