Here in Louisiana, it's currently 82 F, but feels like 89 F. Not too bad. It topped 100 F earlier this week.
My first apartment had no a/c and not much ventilation. Ice cubes on your stomach seem to help. Likewise, ice or cold water on your wrists has a great cooling effect. Soaking your feet in an ice water bath helps too.
If you can, pick up a little window a/c unit for your bedroom and just keep the bedroom closed off so it can be cool. If you can't afford to buy one, look at thrift stores or see if your area has a freecycle group. (www.freecycle.org)
If all else fails, go run through your sprinkler or have a water balloon fight.

I am in Texas and the high today was a wonderful 106. Right now outside and its 10:40 pm its a lovely 91. I am keeping my airconditioning set on 70. The reason for that is number one I am pregnant and I feel like I am melting. I know I will have a high electric bill but at this moment I do not care.

Real easy, I am burning a lot of energy using a central air system. We have been hanging in the 105-112 degree range for 13 days now. I am in Oklahoma and we are use to this type of heat. I am too cheap right now to change my Northern car in for a Southern car that has AC so driving is a bear. You have to drink a lot of water and Gatorade when it is really hot.

We are surviving by paying up the rear for our air conditioner to practically run non-stop. It is well over 100 degrees here and yesterday was the worst. Even at ten at night, it was still roasting out. The only way to stay cool is by swimming, and staying in doors.

Here in Canada the temperature is perfect. Only about 25 degree's celcius during the day and during the night it's about 10 degrees celcius. When it gets too hot, we turn on the air conditioner. It really helps!!!

So CA 89 on the hot wall. Windows open for the breeze, and a small fan directly at me and the computer. Cold water cloths if needed.

It's about 77 and VERY humid here in central NJ. But I have the air conditioning cranking. And we're having a doozy of a thunderstorm right now. Oh, and it's 11:37 PM.

I just turned on my A/C two days ago because I couldn't take it anymore. But before that, I had my 10" box fan working on overtime. That wasn't so great.
I also spent the earlier part of my evening in the library, or the theater...

ok, no offense, but i'm in st.louis MO, and over 1 million people here are without air conditioning. the heat index yesterday made the temp here between 112 and 120. over half the state has no electricity, and the governor has declared a state of national emergency. our power just came back on today. i feel for you, but believe me, it could be worse
