The old way is hydrogen peroxide, but that really just turns you horrible shade of red and dries out your hair. You're better off to spend the $6 to pick up a colorant at the drug store than to do it yourself at home. The homemade remedies can leave you with the most horrible colors that you can't control and can't easily fix.

if hair is naturaly black, use a lighter brown, if it a dye job, then you need to go to a beauty supply store and get what is called hair color remover, it removes hair color from the hair, black hair color does not come out easily, usualy with hair growth and scissors is black hair color removed from scalp.
