No god is real and here is why...
I am religious, I do believe in GOD and here is why...
Please read and consider what I say very carefully, open your mind and let go of your humanity.
This is a silly question. think my friend for a moment. Do you go into a grocery store and ask for the manager and get the reply:
"Why do you believe there is a manager?"
The fact that the grocery store exists leads to the fact that there is a manger I.E> the fact that the universe exists itslelf lends to the fact that GOD also exists.
Say I'm holding a pencil and you ask me
"who made that pencil in your hand?"
And I replied
"No one. It made itself."
You would never ever believe me... right??? Obviously pencils dont just come into existance or make themselves..... So if you cannot believe that a simple pencil cannot just come into existance... Why could anyone believe that the univers just came into existance??? With all it's complexities laws and rules and its complex setup.... If a simple pencil cannot simply come into existance without a creator than how can the infinite universe???
Plus if you think about it the universe had equivelant chances of coming into existance as absolutely any possilble combination of setups of atoms without guidance. It could have come into existance as a jumbo jet, or a nuclear missile. It also hade a 1/infinity chance of bearing life, but for some reason it did. I dont like those odds, something must have guided it.
Also another point is ask someone where anything came from. Lets go back to the pencil. Well it came from a factory.... and the factory was made by humans, and humans crawled out of the primordial sludge, and the sludge came from a mixture of carbon and oxygen atoms struck by lightning, and the lightning came from uneven heating of the earth, and uneven heating of the earth came from the sun, and the sun came from hydrogen being converted into helium, which was brought about by gravity, which came from the big bang, wait a sec.... where did the big bang come from? What started it? See, if you go back far enough there has to be some unmoved mover... something.someone who started all the processes of everything... you can go through an infinite number of steps but you always lead back to the truth which is that there is a GOD. Plain and simple.
GOD Bless you all and may he guide you to understanding.
BTW, I'm a 17 yr old catholic!
Why is it so difficult for you to expand your mind past the here and now past the physical and the present?
Why can you not accept that there is a GOD and that we do have souls... it is true.
Previously I thought I answered your question well.

Okies, I'll give it a go, sorry for the length ....
"If theres a soul, then how come ..." Because there is more to you than your brain. There is your body, your mind, and your soul. One part may be damaged as you say, but your soul is not your mind. Methinks you have a misconception on what the soul is.
"how is it possible to exist for an eternity ..." I don't understand eternity and neither do you. No one does, that's a region that belongs to God. Let me give you an idea of how I know we are not ready yet to understand. If you go back in time just 100 years and tell them it's possible to cook a potato in 10 minutes, you'd be laughed at, then put away for your own good. But tell a kid of today that it takes an hour to cook a potato, and they'd just scoff and show you how to use a microwave ... then program your VCR for you lol.
"You came into existence when you were born ..." Yes, you are partly right. I believe we came into existence upon birth, but I do not accept that we go out of it and cease to exist. It is hard to believe because it is false in every religion, except atheism. If everyone in the entire world believes in an afterlife, except the atheists, then perhaps the atheists are wrong?
"Why do you use the bible to prove itself? ..." Okay, let me turn that around on you. Prove to me that Mt. Everest exists, without using the word "Mt. Everest", without ever showing me pictures or books about it, or referring to Mt. Everest in any way. We aren't there, so you can't just pat it and say "look, here it is", so prove it. Yeah, I know, you can't. Neither can I prove the Bible without referring to it in some way.
"...you think that life is too complicated to exist ..." You have put two separate things together, intelligent design and belief in the one true God. So I'll answer separately. Life is too complicated to exist without intelligent design of some sort. That is absolutely true, I believe that. The second part, that the Christian God is the one true God among all religions, well, I believe that we actually all worship the same God lol. We just see different sides of Him, we adore different aspects of His Holiness.
There, I have answered you directly. Now please recant your question that Christians don't ever answer a question directly. Thank you.

There is a soul. Just because a person is brain damaged and isn't talking to you, doesn't mean that nothing is going on inside their heart.
Why isn't it possible to exist for an eternity? We are given supernatural bodies that won't deteroate, so why not?
There is evidence that proves the Bible thats not in the Bible! Just look around you! Watch prophesy come true!
The Christian God is true because no other religions make sense.

I know you're looking for a direct answer to all of your questions. The problem is "I just don't know the answer to these questions." That's an honest answer. I do, however, believe in God and it is my faith that makes me "hope" that all things in the Bible are true. Do I have definitive proof? Haven't died yet so I can't give you any facts. What seems so strange to me about your question is how absolutely certain you are that you "know" there is no afterlife, that you "know" the Bible isn't true, how you "know" it is not possible to exist forever, how you know what is going on inside of the mind of someone with Alzheimer's? Have you died and come back to life? Have you some scientific proof that what you say is based in fact? The reality of the situation is you have no more definitive knowledge of what is going to happen after you die than anyone else. And yet you are condescending toward Christians to a fault. I have given you my truthful answer. I don't have any absolute answers for you. In all honesty, I can not say I know I am right. Problem is, neither can you. I just pray I am right.

1. Its only proof that you brain is damaged or impaired now. Do you fundamentally change when you are asleep or drunk? No. Only while you are asleep or drunk. If you wear red glasses, did the colors change or only your perception of them?
2. How do you know its not possible to exist forever?
3. You are right. Its not hard to believe that, but there is plenty of other evidence that indicates there might be a bit more to existance--and it originates from New Age or other beliefs as well.
4. Well, since the bible was "written" by a number of independant sources over the course of at least six thousand years the bible is able to prove itself. In our legal system, the testimony of several witnesses constitute the construction the truth.
5. Well the complication of life has nothing to do with establishing the "Christian" God as the true God. For the record, I believe it was the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob who established himself as the true God making him the true God of the Jews, the Christians, and Muslims. What is different is one's understanding of God. Individual understanding varies according to one's ability to completely put aside one's self to actually hear God. That being said, I might not even be right about any of this, but its my perception of reality.

everything you ask is simply the human mind working and challenging what is simply believed to be true.... maybe the questions can't be answered directly, but you know, one can never know God perfectly... he's too great to ever understand completely, but why do you doubt? don't you realize that it's better to believe in a God and find out he doesn't exist than to not believe and find out he does?... becsides... with the whole possible thing of being eternally existent in the afterlife, it's possible to exist forever in heaven... because its not the body that lasts, but the soul, and i see you depend on the brain for everything, but in the afterlife, its not the brain that wins a spot in heaven, its the heart and what you truly believe... and why we use the bible? well God gave the words to and inspired humans way long ago, and to imagine that the bible could last for so long almost makes it believable.. its definitely something that has withstood the test of time.... and you know, God gave us a brain so we'd know about Him and be able to share our faith with others, the heart though is what provides the information and the brain allows us to distribute it out... maybe there are some questions that can't be answered, but why look at one questiont hat can't be answered other than the thousand questions that can... Jesus died for your sin, how is that not believable... and life isn't too complicated to live without a God, its just meaningless without one, because there is nothing to live for if you don't accept God into your life.

Back when people wore sandels and had to almost walk everywhere ! There was a man who was seen by your ancestors , who healed a blind man . if you think about it we can't even do that today . how would it happen when su=ergical tools where never invented ? That was a miracle . He also raised the dead . We can't at all do that , and we never will be able to do that , not even in the future . that was a miracle . why don't you believe what yo can't see ? Did you know that you wouldn't even be here without a creator ? The reason we christians believe in the Bible is because , well your possible ancestors wrote that book . They were there . If a doctor told you , you were gonna die in about an hour , would you believe him ? or would you go on with your daily life . And in an hour you knew you were going to die soon ? WHat would you have to say for yourself ? Trust is the keyword to all your questions . We trust that there is someone out thee that died for me to live again . I do't know where you are , or why you asked that question , but all i have to say is if you want to put your trust in someone like you and me ? Then you need to bring it to Him , the Lord my God . If you are reading this and ou have not asked the Lord Jesus into your life , please , if you want to except the lord Jesus into your life , say this prayer . " Lord Jesus , I would like for you to , please forgive me of all my sins and live in my life , home , and heart all the days of my life . Please work in my life , for me to become a mighty work , just for you . Please forgive my families sins they might not know you as your savior , but now i do , and will tell them the story of how you died on that cross , and ross again on the third day . Thank you God for your many blessings . Amen ." If you prayed that prayer , and you ment it , you will live in a glorious mantion one day , with golden streets , and you will see what no human has before .

Wow - not exactly the most direct question I've ever read, either.
For me, life is too full of wonder for me to believe that this body, this lifetime is all there is. And people are more than their brain - if that weren't the case, then there would be no moral argument against eugenics (sterilization of the mentally or physically handicapped) or euthanasia. Indeed, your argument suggests that life isn't worth living for those who lack the mental capacity to function as you or I can . I cannot accept that argument.
The rest of your ranting is full of assertions with absolutely no coherent arguments to back them up. I'll finish with this: life IS complicated. I don't presume to know everything, nor do I presume to claim my beliefs as the only true beliefs. People respond to the vicissitudes of life in ways that help them live as fully and as meaningfully as they can. If that includes God, so be it - if not, that's fine too. I'm not going to try to deny anybody the tools that they need to cope with the difficulties of life. I hope that you won't either.

Just so you know, just because a person has alzheimers, they can sometimes regain a lot of their memories from a drug called Aricept. I have seen it work. One guy I used to take care of at the nursing home began taking the drug and prior to that he didn't know who his family was, or even what the staff member's names were. After he took this drug, he knew his daughter (who was also a nurse there), his wife, some of the staff by face recognition, ect.
I view the bible as proof that Jesus existed because i know what I know. I know what I was taught and what i choose to believe. And after life will for me ( I hope) will be in heaven, with all my other brother's and sister's in christ, along with the family members who have passed along through the years. I will even get to see the two miscarried babies that I had.

I agree, it's a simple way to explain away things they can't understand or aren't willing to except as real. This "FAITH" isn't keeping good people from being killed or keeping churches from being burned or destroyed by floods or what not. I have read a good part of the Bible and there isn't very much logic in it's words. There is far to much contradiction and vague passage to be taken seriously, so it is left open for people to pick and choose what they are going to practice and quote from the books of the Bible and cast out what they feel is not relevant to a given situation. When I ask a religious person about something they are doing that is wrong according to something I have read and can show them, they tell me simply "that part is outdated" or "that is no longer relevant to today's world".
B.S. I say!!!
