That's a tough decision. I wish I had an easy answer for you. How many uncles do you have? This is what I'm thinking - Have your father's best friend walk you down the aisle, but have your uncles standing along the aisle with a single flower (either one you have chosen or one they have chosen) and have them hand it to you as you walk past them toward the altar. This way, they are all involved in a special way.

When I got married I asked my mom to walk me down the isle because my dad had died years before.

If the choice is too difficult to make, then don't have anyone walk you down the aisle. When it comes time for the officiant to ask, "Who gives this woman to this man?", then your mom, dad's best friend and all of your uncles could stand and answer in unison, "We do". This way, nobody will be left out.
Good luck!

I think both your mom and your dad's best friend would probably be honored to walk you down the isle. It's entirely up to you. I hope you have a good wedding.

Is one of your uncles or your dad's best friend your godfather? If one of them is, ask that person. If not, I'd go with just your mom. My sister and I decided years ago that, if for some reason our father could not walk us down the aisle, we would ask our two male cousins. She would ask the younger of the two and I would ask the older of the two.
Hope that helps.

Now a days there are many weddings were the mother's bride walks her down the aisle. After all if there is no dad then she really is the one giving the bride away. I think it would be a beautiful gesture and I bet your mother would be honored. Good luck.

I believe it would be okay to walk down the aisle by yourself. Anyone who is a family member or close friend knows that your father is deceased. You don't have to be "given away" in these modern times and I'm sure the minister would know how to deal with this if you ask him/her about how to handle it.

technically if you have a brother it is his job but if you don't why not have your father's best friend that way no feelings get hurt with your uncles and you can almost feel like it is your dad walking you down the aisle.

Do it like it has never been done before . Have all of your uncles walk you down. It would be unique .Go for the grand finally. It will be remembered forever. Just my way of thinking. If not I hope you figure it out. You could write Ann Landers

My dad is not in my life and my grandfathers are dead. I asked my stepdad and he refused to wear a tux... so I walked by myself. My mother still answered when they asked who was giving me in marriage. I would do whatever is going to make you more comfortable that day.
